Never my style of politics but at least not of the limp wristed vacillating lying cheating breed of today.
Sad to hear that Anthony Wedgewood Benn died today.
Always a pleasure to listen to and discuss things with
Greatly missed
Heard him speak once at a business dinner many years ago in London, an intriguing and highly intelligent man, another great character sadly gone
I quite liked Mr Benn
You don't mean the above though do you *bites nails*

I quite liked Tony Benn also, always a person worth listening to, clever, articulate, opinionated & passionate in what he believed in and a person who was altogether unlike the current bunch of MOFO's in Govt today.
Really great guy, need more like him !
John
'Almost the last of a near extinct breed- the lesser spotted, backbone MP'.
unfortunately it seems to have been killed off by the more prominent 'self serving, useless, two faced, spineless bastard MP'.....Only Dennis Skinner left i think?
a great speaker and his books are a very interesting read.
very sad to see him passing.
Its sad that anyone passes away and thoughts with his family and friends of course.
And he was rightly honoured by lying in the Commons Chapel overnight as he was a great, loyal and formidable Parliamentarian for over 50 years. I would think you challenged him at your peril in a Debate!
But I could never agree with his very left-wing Socialist views no matter how eloquently he argued them. He was wrong on so very many major economic issues simply because of his views.
Having said that I think he was brave to fund Concorde and create an absolute legend of an aircraft. Nothing like it since. And 'Did You Know' we have to thank him for retaining the Queen's head (in relief) on our stamps to this day. Mind he must be ranting about the Privatisation of RM!
