Not sure that I agree with the OP. There is a difference between banter/generic winding up of an issue and abuse that is both insulting and personally directed. I have been on this Site for quite a while and have only had cause to raise a complaint once about what i felt was a level of abuse that was just too much. It was insulting and it was personal. At least on this site there is an acceptable use policy. There is another site where complaints are not even looked into - you just get a number of time outs and then a permanent ban. it seems that there are strategic alliances that can effectively get you off the site for no reason whatsoever. At least here someone else has to validate the complaint of a breach of the AUP. If Star has been banned for a breach of the AUP - whose fault is it if it is not his own? I understand that it is not the first time so he ought to learn how best to moderate his responses.
some are of thicker skins than others i've never lodged a complaint....... ever. i take it on the the chin ffs im 45 and been called a lot worse. if i think some one is talking like a twat then i would tell them in here or to their face i dont hate anyone, but sometimes i just think some labour a point a little to much to try to prove their point. i think swinging is a very grown up past time running off to the teacher because you dont like another posters point of veiw or thier personal observations is not. i think thats why they have moderators

Refusing to apologise for calling someone a donut and arguing that I didn't think donut was a particularly abusive term . Why ? why? i just wanted to see what your thoughts where. from an outsiders point of view you laboured the point, even had an avatar to antagonise the situation. sometimes not all see what they are actually doing wrong
I feel that a person who has an alternative viewpoint should be allowed to have it. Problem is those who like to piss on that persons point of view long enough and hard enough labouring the point again and again moving it into areas of ridicule and goading, oh sorry, banter that lose all relevance to the original point that someones vague idea of AUP breaking occurs. OK so maybe Star should shut the fuck up at points but he's not the only one who fucking should. It is as Rob says, but about a few not singularly, its labouring a point in purposeful antagonism and then the pretence at the shock horror of some of the responses to said antagonism. These things are done with foresight and anticipation and its akin to bullying.
I really am trying to be honest here. I think the bullying comes from others primarily not star. He ends up having to over defend his point of view or opinion in the face of deliberate haranguing
