Swinging Heaven past and present...

Having been members here since the original owners were running things over 20 years ago, reading through the recently bumped "What Has Made You Smile Today" thread brought back many wonderful memories. So many names from the past, some of whom we met socially or for fun and many more we didn't but chatted, laughed and even argued with here. Real people with real jobs, real lives and all that goes with that - happiness, love, sadness, stress, grief, despair...

We attended a number of wonderful socials, were regular contributors to the forums and met some great people socially and for fun at a time when social media wasn't a thing and MMS was like something out of Star Trek lol. We're now just wondering where all that time has gone and where all those we used to be in regular forum contact with here are now. It felt like a real 'community' and was a very special part of our lives. It's probably far too late to expect much of a response to this post as the forums are so sparsely frequented now in comparison to those days when they were buzzing, but if anyone out there would care who recalls those times would care to post here to add to this and even fill in some of the gaps, it'd be great. Even names from the past would be interesting to see because even trawling through ancient forum threads we contributed to doesn't reveal members who closed their accounts.

Time has moved on, the world has transformed on and the fact that this site has changed so much isn't a surprise, it's inevitable. What's probably more surprising though is that it's still here at all and for that we thank the current and past owners who have facilitated that. Thanks for enabling us to meet and share some amazing fun and intimate times with people we'd otherwise never have met.

I recall one guy who would post a reply to a new photo like he was Sid James in a Carry On movie.

I won’t say his name incase I get it wrong but it was hilarious to read ever day. I did worry about him a little though I hope he was only banned as he stopped posting some time ago.

Yes there have been a few of those lol. Who knows why people post what they do here. I guess it comes down to their expectations and those who expect instant gratification don't tend to stay around a long time. In the early days of the chat room it was very basic, like real time text messages, but with the advent of still and video images a new type of member appeared - here for porn, not expecting or even wanting to meet people. We still get it now in chat. An initial 'hello...' followed immediately by a series of entirely unsolicited and unwanted cock shots. It's almost as if they are flashers who get off on showing their bits to unsuspecting people lol. What we've always looked for is conversation and common ground first, then the possibility of more to follow but all that seems dreadfully out of place in todays world when few seem prepared to invest even a little effort into getting to know people. Maybe this is why these forums are virtually stagnant now sadly. Each to their own however.

We have been members since 2003. SH was our first swingers site on the internet. As you say it was THE place to be, the parties and club meet ups were centred around Manchester so it involved us making a lot of trips over there. But once having got involved with the "critical mass" of the social / swinging members we never looked back !

Brilliant times with amazing people. We even met you both one Sunday for lunch, but alas nothing more came of that, possibly because we were softswingers back at that time ?

I think part of the attraction back then was that the whole scene was still mostly "underground" and we were doing something naughty. Today, the clubs openly advertise and people are much more open about having threesomes or foursomes.

It certainly was a great place to be We went to a few socials back then but only in London and Kent. This thread was from our first one back in 2005!

Can't believe it's so long ago lol! It's possible we may have met you back then but we we never able to travel far from London due to family commitments so you may be confusing us for another couple you came across. Glad to see some of us 'ole timers' are still around though :)
