It appears that chemical weapons may have been used by the rebels against government forces.

Now the rebels are supported by NATO and with Putin looking at doing a bit of sabre rattling it plays right in to his hands for a full scale bout of political posturing.
I for one am very glad that a Republican isn't in the White House.
I have often thought that many of the civilian deaths attributed to the various regimes have actually been at the hands of the rebels and supported by the likes of the British Government.
It's an absolute disgrace.

For once GNV we could actually be on the losing side :-(
Put all you savings into gold or platinum and go and bury it deep in a Welsh/Irish/Scottish mountainside...
Lets hope America has no stomach for anything more than shouting from across the pond.
now lets read that again....the Syrian Government says the rebels have used chemical gas !!!! Well they would wouldn't they,... when it seems satalite evidence is pointing towards them stocking piling certain weapons, that surprise surprise, look like chemical weapons.
The syrian government has without mercy killed innocent civilians. They have repeatedly driven through areas raising it the ground, killing anyone they see.....including women and children.
I am sure the rebels are not all innocent, but compared to the Syrian governement and its forces, they look bloody angelic !!!

Just out of interest Stevie .... which conflicts do you think we "won" or are "winning" ?
well that all depends on ones definition of success, if that definition is to increase the level of democracy and reduce the tide of nationalistic fascism in the world then 2 out of 2
I don't count police actions / conflicts / anti-terrorist operations etc as they are not winnable, you can not win against an ideal.

And that may be the case, but Russia is backing the Syrian government and has started to deploy AAM and ASM batteries. They look like they are preparing for the protection of the Syrian airspace against reprisal from the West.
Don't think the yanks are going to get too excited just at the moment. They're too busy shooting each other and setting fire to premises in NY State.

deano, you've got things upside down, inside out so to speak i'm afraid. all anti assad regime propaganda is exactly that. western/nato propaganda to achieve regime change using mercenaries from outside syria, financed by the undemocratic western backed monarchies of the middle east, turkey, israel, france, gb and us trained and armed carrying out horrendous atrocities against the civilian population and blaming the assad regime.
same job in libya.
you obviously do not follow the geostrategic plan.
read brezinski and general wesley clark and all will be revealed. regards
