I suspect (and I may be wrong ) that he's trying to articulate his disapproval of the Popes position regarding child abuse within the Catholic church
Surely not, the Archbishop of Westminster made an heartfelt apology for all that business wink
I would say as a non believer that IF the Pope did remain silent or made excuses for child abuse, then he should be made not welcome in this country.
As the leader of the Catholic church what right does he have to do that, and in his position it is much worse. He should know better as long gone are the days when the church was all powerful.
joyful piece of song writeing truly joyful.
The biggest tragedies create the greatest art. I think that's why I love war poetry.
I am humbled that the long established tradition of minstrels troubadours and folk singers has created a legacy such as this man. How he manages to say what I feel in so few words to such a catchy tune beggars belief.
Thank you thank you thank you.
Oh and denying the facts of the underlying case should be made a criminal offence. And in fact I'm so angry I might just do something like write a letter of outrage to aa Bishop or somebody that's how angry I am. No I am really really angry. Really. I agree with kent we shouldn't let the bugger in.

The problem with not letting the pope in is that he is a head of governments have compromised their principles to meet with heads of state with unsavoury backgrounds in the were unhappy with the recent Chinese visit, but for commercial reasons it went ahead.
Wether he should visit is an indivdual he was personally involved in covering up abuse, but he does also represent the Catholic this role he is worshipped by many .
Personally i think this shows why the compromise of choosing him was mistaken from the was chosen mainly to block more radical choices from the left and right.

Yes, but it's not a proper state really is it? It's basically a whopping great monestary or more accurately, a huge regal (money drenched) palace or tourist attraction depending on your point of view. Most of the functions that make a state are absent.

Reguardless the vatican is treated as a state, thus its seat on the of statehood vary, but i dont think Britain is going to stand up and say its not a real state so he aint coming.

With that in mind I don't think the Pope would be in any danger of not being let in lol
Have to say.....what a sickening picture.
Imagine being a relative of someone who was killed by a Lebanese terrorists, on that plane in Lockerbie.
Sickening.
Time heals for most, except those that were directly affected by the incident. If the civilized world did not move on then we grow to hate and then they have won

Yeah, but the Libyans are ok?
There remains a ?about wether the man convicted was guilty and the Libyans responsible ....I'm not prone to believing conspiracy theories but there is a weight of evidence to suggest the bomb was a C.I.A. cock-up

yes, this is one of the few conspiracies that seems to have some weight behind up,the balance of evidence at least suggests the the lybians were not involved.
Course they were'nt involved...It was the Lebonese...Kenty said so.
