You can set an automated response to this mail, many go for the "whilst your interest is appreciated we would prefer to receive a personal mail from those that are interested in us".
Personally we tend to ignore them, never in all the many years we have been on the site has such an approach led to a meet which is why many think it is a lazy approach from people who aren't really into putting an effort into actually meeting and just send loads of these out each day to random people without even reading their profile or caring how far away they are or what they are looking for etc.
We got two yesterday that are in total conflict of what our profile says we do/want.

100% agree. We've never met anyone that has winked at us, and never will.
We've met some very nice people after sending them an initial wink, albeit we've customised ours to be more descriptive, and we only send it to people we'll mesh with. In fact, most of the liaisons we've had were initiated from a wink.
