If these people have no need for money and wealth, why the problem with the people that do have it?

But !
But !
Even people WITH loads of money dislike others with loads of money.
The only thing they have in common with each other (those with loads of money who dislike the rich) is that they both dislike people with no money !
Even our brave new coalition government dislikes people with money....and that is run by people with LOADS-A-MONEY.
I, personally, do not dislike anyone with loads of money.
Largely because I do not know anyone with loads of money.
I know; I'm sad.
(PS: All airport expansions cancelled. No new runways anywhere in the South of England)
(It's good to be green; Especially if you're rich and green)
(no rich people were harmed in the making of this pointless comment)
Just when you thought there was light at the end of the tunnel, you hear the approaching train....but is it an express ?

The biggest thing that confuses me, here on this site, and probably throughout society is the dislike of those who have money.

I do not have any problem with people who have money IF it is earned money.
People who had nothing and through sheer hard work and determination, make it to become rich.
In life there are people who lead and others who follow, the leaders are the ones that invariably become rich or successful, and the followers do not...it is how life is.
All this total nonsense about spreading the wealth from the rich to the poor, is a Socialistic idea that comes from people who have nothing, or at the least very little.
This is not Nottingham, and Robin Hood is not around now.

Dont think I disagree with much of that Kenty.
What do you mean by, "If it is earned money"? Are we saying that because some one was born to well off parents that we should measure them in a different way?

There is of course a big difference Blue with those that have had to work hard for their money, and those that were " given " it. The given ones have no appreciation of how they got the money, whereby those that have worked hard for it, understand what it is like to have no money.
I know of two people in particular who are now millionaires, who had nothing when they started out. They certainly appreciate the understanding of having to work hard for what they have achieved.
Do you think that kids born into a wealthy family have any idea of money, and how to earn it?
Probably not, but I do not like the double standard

Do not see the double standards here Blue.dunno
Of course you cannot tar everyone with the same steriotypical views.
But how can anyone appreciate something that is given to them, instead of working for it?
I understand the workshy having a attitude towards people with money, I see that attitude a lot but...jealousy is a root cause of peoples attitudes...pure and simple.
Of course people will never admit to that, why would they?
I would of course rather have my health and my family over money any day of the week, but if you can have a bit of money as well, then that makes life even more enjoyable.
I will not be fooled by people who detest the rich, or in some cases even the slightly well off out there. Those people have nothing...will never have nothing, but detest others that do. But given the chance they would take everything they could no matter what they may well say on an internet forum, or down the pub.
Easy to say you would not want it, when you do not have it to start with.
There are millions of wealthy hard working people who believe that wealth is unfairly distributed.
The really poor who lack even the dream of wealth or even the dream of secure warm housing tend to have very quiet voices and their opinions are rarely heard.
It is easy but quite wrong to try to label compassion as envy.
I have no problem with people with money.....I dislike the idea that many of them have that their money makes them somehow better than those who have non,I dislike the way many of them will spend thousands on expensive accountants in order to avoid paying their taxes..and contributing their fair share to the society that enabled them to earn that money,I dislike the constant whining about how much tax they do pay....I have no problem with people with money if they have a bit of humility (perhaps grace is a better word ?)about their wealth.

I would not believe for a second there are any wealthy hard working people who would think that....why would they?
Millions? You would be hard pushed to find one.
What a silly comment, unless you have proof of this?
Could you actually even find one person?

Have you ever heard of the viscount Stansfield?....
I guess I am a very different person than many here then, I do not judge anybody by how much money the do or do not have, or how they gained their wealth. I judge them by how I get along with them, and I have yet to find many people that I cant get along with. I can count them on my thumbs.
I come from a family who never had any wealth, but I never new we were poor. My childhood was rich and fulfilled and I try to pass that on to my children also. Having said that I am now working very hard towards a future where we will all be much better off, but that will not change us
I doubt that many of the posters on this forum base their friendships on wealth Blue...given that politics and this thread in particular often seem to boil down to money,I can well see how they may appear to.
there are those that are given
and those that are taken away from
those that go out and get it
and those who cant be bothered
there are those that can not
and those that can
those that want to
and those that do not
those that need most
and those that need not but just think its their right
but worst are those who want someone else`s for no need or no return wink
and then there`s this its almost funny

but to show im not bias
Grace is a great word.

Both made me roll up Rob.#
You can imagine the first one on nearly every street corner, I see them every Monday morning at the post office.
But the second one is brilliantly funny.
ok got bored reading the bickering so i'm jumping right in with my tupence worth
i am very lucky to have a wonderfull hubby that yes i bicker with just like you lot do but i feel loved and love him back
we have 2 grown sons that brought us no real trouble but yet did manage to give us both some extra grey hairs we shouldn't have already
we have a roof over our heads that is much smaller than we really need but we kinda enjoy the cosieness if we're honest
we have bills that get paid each month without any difficulty and a couple that we ignore till we really truelly have to pay um
we have jobs that we don't necessarily enjoy all the time but we don't hate them either and they actually pay ok but we'll never be rich
so do i have sucess and wealth
HELL YES
do i play the lottery and cross everything for a win
HELL YES
just because we do ok and feel incredibly lucky to have the life we have does not mean we wouldn't appreciate that bit more
maybe we are greedy but i do know it would be amazing not to ever have to put off those bills we ignore till they really truelly have to be paid it would be amazing to be able to just put the car in the garage when it needed fixing rather than having to wait till pay day it would be amazing to just get up in the morning and not have a feeling of dread when the postman delivers the bills
money doesn't make you happy but it does make life easier for most although i do know not all
if you want a good investment try one of these no capital gains tax either wink
For those of you amongst us who hate people with money and success, cos usually they have not attained it themselves....Capitalism obviously has some benefits.

I wonder if the people who will benefit from this money, actually will be bothered that it came from rich and successful people?
I hope the people who hate people with wealth are not included in the people who get the hand outs, because that would be double standard hypocrisy.....which means that they would want to be at the front of the queue.
Three cheers for the people who have said they will give away their money...hip hip.

Wonderful gesture, let us hope it goes to deserving people
No you deserve much more than that.:rascal:
They can only be congratulated and thanked for their altruism.....I hope many others follow their lead
