Probably not, but I do not like the double standard
There are millions of wealthy hard working people who believe that wealth is unfairly distributed.
The really poor who lack even the dream of wealth or even the dream of secure warm housing tend to have very quiet voices and their opinions are rarely heard.
It is easy but quite wrong to try to label compassion as envy.
I have no problem with people with money.....I dislike the idea that many of them have that their money makes them somehow better than those who have non,I dislike the way many of them will spend thousands on expensive accountants in order to avoid paying their taxes..and contributing their fair share to the society that enabled them to earn that money,I dislike the constant whining about how much tax they do pay....I have no problem with people with money if they have a bit of humility (perhaps grace is a better word ?)about their wealth.
I guess I am a very different person than many here then, I do not judge anybody by how much money the do or do not have, or how they gained their wealth. I judge them by how I get along with them, and I have yet to find many people that I cant get along with. I can count them on my thumbs.
I come from a family who never had any wealth, but I never new we were poor. My childhood was rich and fulfilled and I try to pass that on to my children also. Having said that I am now working very hard towards a future where we will all be much better off, but that will not change us
I doubt that many of the posters on this forum base their friendships on wealth Blue...given that politics and this thread in particular often seem to boil down to money,I can well see how they may appear to.
and then there`s this its almost funny
but to show im not bias
ok got bored reading the bickering so i'm jumping right in with my tupence worth
i am very lucky to have a wonderfull hubby that yes i bicker with just like you lot do but i feel loved and love him back
we have 2 grown sons that brought us no real trouble but yet did manage to give us both some extra grey hairs we shouldn't have already
we have a roof over our heads that is much smaller than we really need but we kinda enjoy the cosieness if we're honest
we have bills that get paid each month without any difficulty and a couple that we ignore till we really truelly have to pay um
we have jobs that we don't necessarily enjoy all the time but we don't hate them either and they actually pay ok but we'll never be rich
so do i have sucess and wealth
HELL YES
do i play the lottery and cross everything for a win
HELL YES
just because we do ok and feel incredibly lucky to have the life we have does not mean we wouldn't appreciate that bit more
maybe we are greedy but i do know it would be amazing not to ever have to put off those bills we ignore till they really truelly have to be paid it would be amazing to be able to just put the car in the garage when it needed fixing rather than having to wait till pay day it would be amazing to just get up in the morning and not have a feeling of dread when the postman delivers the bills
money doesn't make you happy but it does make life easier for most although i do know not all
For those of you amongst us who hate people with money and success, cos usually they have not attained it themselves....Capitalism obviously has some benefits.
I wonder if the people who will benefit from this money, actually will be bothered that it came from rich and successful people?
I hope the people who hate people with wealth are not included in the people who get the hand outs, because that would be double standard hypocrisy.....which means that they would want to be at the front of the queue.
Three cheers for the people who have said they will give away their money...hip hip.
No you deserve much more than that.:rascal:
They can only be congratulated and thanked for their altruism.....I hope many others follow their lead
