Is racisim another word for opinion?
Hello browning.....how the devil are you matey?
I think gulson has some point. all these things we feel sensitive about have become the tools for divide and rule, as they seem to be achieving the same purpose.
all these things we feel sensitive about should also make you realise they are 'human' things. feelings and ideas that connect through you. if you come to terms with them and what they mean to you, you will be confident in yourself.
listening to extreme arguments about these things pushes them away from your self realisation. you have to learn to live with the fact that you will be a bit racist, a bit sexist etc. knowing that makes it easier to monitor your own behaviour. you won't be able to eradicate it.
i think everyone experiences those gut reactions to different people's. and you can go around and think what you like.
in theory and given time you learn not to react quite so badly with each passing year and eventually acquire a good level of tolerance and understanding.
but it becomes racism the moment you seek out people similar to yourself and share in slagging off those you find are not to your liking.
Why am I bitter and twisted brucie?
I am only giving an opinion based on my own experience.
Sadly, in all situations, we only remember the worst of our casual encounters. So we could pass any number of quiet, pleasant people of a particular group. But when we get barged out of the way by one of them the others fade into the mist of our memories.
The proportions of bad to good may be the same for all groups but add the bad encounter to a visually obvious group and we soon, if only subconciously, start feeling that 'that' group are all awful.
I expect there's a case now for people being subject to Swingingheavenism..............
Perhaps he has a gravy fetish?
