seen on the tv...news....
that they have made a drinking water treatment place in the east end....
now since this place is not far from the sewage farm...n it stinks most times of the yr..
n the new drinking water is going to be pulled from the thames.n only a few yrs ago flood in london put raw sewage into the thames killing fish ect.
think its time to move......

But it's clean, and you can drive 10 miles in 20 minutes not 2 hours to get 3 miles through London traffic. biggrin

We have floride ,the myths about damage are counteracted by young children not having to go into hospital to have teeth removed.
Just compare the teeth of geordie and manc kids,then say floride is a bad thing.
ANY medical treatments forced on a population that is largely unaware it is happening is a bad thing.

If you mean people should be consulted,they have been about floride in the water in the north west,but the arguement has tended to be highlighted by a few pressure groups.
i understand the choice arguement,but the fact is when you see babies with bottles filled with coke you do wonder at which point you have to say despite all the info available some people are not capable of making an informed choice.

Many areas of the NE have natural floride and as said the childrens teeth were generally better, certainly in the Depression days (the last one, not the next one). Until affluence brought lots of sweets and coke.

I had not noticed the importance of what Dave has pointed out in Kaz's post.
That is the kind of thing I grew to dislike about our last Labour government, any one who did not agree with their point of view was some how less worthy.
What Dave has said is, to me, fundamental, I feel we should question every thing from what is put in our water, veins, or statute books. The day we stop we make it very easy for the would be dictators of this world.

With vast numbers of kids and adults on sink estates drugged into apathy by a medical profession that meets targets rather than needs I really struggle to care about the flouridation of water

Absolutely !!! And therefore they shouldn`t be allowed to vote :thumbup:
As long as any feckless, ignorant moron is allowed to vote we`ll have the society we deserve.....People should have to pass some sort of intelligence test before being allowed to put their cross on a ballot paper !

fluoridated, water i don t mind.....dont care what they do to the water.
i still don t like the idea of drinking it.......wonder if the west end would like it to be bottled n serve to them.
