Just had to share this with you all. Apparently it's a transcription from a call centre.
There's always one. This has got to be one of the funniest things in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. This is a true story from the Word Perfect Helpline, which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the Help Desk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the Word Perfect organization for "Termination without Cause".
Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee. (Now I know why they record these conversations!):
Operator: "Ridge Hall, computer assistance; may I help you?"
Caller: "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect."
Operator: "What sort of trouble??"
Caller: "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."
Operator: "Went away?"
Caller: "They disappeared."
Operator: "Hmm So what does your screen look like now?"
Caller: "Nothing."
Operator: "Nothing??"
Caller: "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."
Operator: "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out??"
Caller: "How do I tell?"
Operator: "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen??"
Caller: "What's a sea-prompt?"
Operator: "Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?"
Caller: "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type."
Operator: "Does your monitor have a power indicator??"
Caller: "What's a monitor?"
Operator: "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on??"
Caller: "I don't know."
Operator: "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that??"
Caller: "Yes, I think so."
Operator: "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall.
Caller: "Yes, it is."
Operator: "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one??"
Caller: "No."
Operator: "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable.."
Caller: "Okay, here it is."
Operator: "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."
Caller: "I can't reach."
Operator: "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is??"
Caller: "No."
Operator: "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over??"
Caller: "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark."
Operator: "Dark??"
Caller: "Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window.
" Operator: "Well, turn on the office light then."
Caller: "I can't."
Operator: "No? Why not??"
Caller: "Because there's a power failure."
Operator: "A power......... A power failure? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now.
Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in??"
Caller: "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."
Operator: "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."
Caller: "Really? Is it that bad?"
Operator: "Yes, I'm afraid it is."
Caller: "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them??"
Operator: "Tell them you're too f --- ing stupid to own a computer.
What has made me smile today?

Reading a review of England's performance in the World Cup and seeing them described as 'ten red cones' left on the pitch around which the Germans could practice their passing skills.

Thats an insult to cones!
Hearing a radio presenter say
"Wayne Rooney was scoring lots of goals in training. Thats because he was playing against the England defense"

Thats no excuse! At your weight you could skip it in no time :haha:
Feels good does it not? about 18 months ago I was 13st 8lbs and this week I was 10st 13lbs  Actually scared now as I dont want to loose any more and it keeps dropping off another pound at a time.
Had a cracking outdoor gig today with the acoustic trio I play in. The sound engineer was someone I've known for years and trust totally. He did a fantastic job. My new guitar played beautifully. Only bought her on thursday. The audience were lovely. It was all relaxed and laid back. A great late afternoon/early evening. Which meant I was home at a reasonable hour and not at 4 a.m. which is normally the case.
In 40 years of gigging I've never broken a string. Today I broke two! Oh well, there's always a first time...and a second! Trouble is, when I get back after a good gig I'm often rev'd up and raring to go. Takes me a long time to get tired and go to bed.
Ice-cream, thick, creamy and delicious. And all mine!!!!!!

Pussy Posse! :smile2:
A strange day, but rather nice. I had my first solo meet in a very long while which I really enjoyed... and then I went to my children's music concert immediately afterwards and really enjoyed that though for a completely different reason. Either way, I have smiled a lot today!

Listening to the Irish band MOVING HEARTS once again. Haven't heard them for over 20 years. Bought their Live in Dublin album recently. Great to hear pieces like The Lark and The Storm again. Also a piece I don't remember hearing before called Downtown. Wonderful stuff.
Seeing one of my school days' crushes.
Gosh :rascal:
He looks even better with grey hair!
A lovely day.
A nice lunch with an old friend, a visit to my folks and then to my brother and his girlfriend, coming home to my boy, losing another 2lbs, having some good aches and pains, taking off yet another pair of trousers that are miles too big and a really nice PM!
Life is good.
There was an awful lot of squealing and giggling at bathtime this evening. You could tell Daddy was in charge. Then the love of my life and the father of my children bounds into the living room with his underpants over his shorts.
"I'm SuperDad!" he announces.
I'll say, I thought.

Fantastic biggrin:D:D:D
My son got confirmation of his 2nd year Student Finance. Yippee - no need to get another HUGE loan out to keep him at Uni - and away from home. :D:D:D:D:D
Its my daughters last year in primary school and she had exams a while back and the results are in and she got 4 grade 5's which is above average for her age. So proud of her as she has alot to deal with as my son has disabilties and alot of her time she helps out looking after him and I'm just amazed at how well she did.
A young pupil of mine has just passed her grade three guitar. She was just two and a half marks away from a distinction. I'm over the moon. I shall go and have a celebratory cuppa! coffee
