Incredible, just absolutely incredible. They should ask the PCC, Ms Barnes, to step down as well as get rid of this little girl. Makes a mockery of the Police.
Another good use of tax-payers money!!
The law states that prior to 18 you are a child, thereafter an adult. There is no grey area. No matter what your moral objection maybe.
In this instance I agree with the law and you, I was pleased when they stopped sending 17 year old children into warzones, but as most on here know, when it comes to the law, I live my life in the way my Nation has taught me to live it, obeying and respecting only those laws that I beilieve are right and just, in fact morally better than my Nation treats it's own laws and those of other Nations as the Nation is willing to break laws for personal gain, greed and because it suits them at the time.
Female or male, sorry makes no difference.
espousing those views in this day and age is wrong and admitting breaking several Laws, then expecting to get away with it especially giben the Youth PCC role part funded by the Taxpayer (not directly funded as her £15,000 pa is apparently coming out of PCC Anne Barnes salary) is patently wrong.
Back to an opening point and "....Paris Brown to be actually charged ..."with these offences, never mind her parents/legal guardians to also have some explaining to do will be a start.
As for the 'side' issues around 17 year olds being adults or not, allowed to kill for Country or not is surely the subject for another thread, however as it's been mentioned there is a Campaign going around how the Police treat 17year olds as there is currently no obligation to advise their parents when they are arrested and held in custody, indeed 17 year olds are treated as adults in police custody despite being regarded as children in other parts of the criminal justice system.
Paris Brown, has resigned from her post, apparently "quitting in the interests of the young people of Kent".
Though the Police are investigating her over her tweets she posted which could be considered racist and anti-gay, possible criminal offences.
Kent PCC Ann Barnes said Kent Police's vetting procedures, which were used during the recruitment process, did not normally require social networks to be scrutinised for posts.
Miss Brown had been asked at the end of her job interview if there were any views she held, or if there was anything in her past that could embarrass her or the youth PCC post, and the teenager's answer had been "no", Ms Barnes added.
Well this daft silly case has now taken another twist. It seems that The 17-year-old's mobile phone was seized and she was questioned by officers from Kent police's Special Branch.
Is this that serious where she is now being questioned by Special Branch police FFS? Come on, we really need to get a proper grip on this. She said a few silly things on Facethingy and was ultimately sacked from her position, for what it was worth anyway. Should the humiliation of that alone not have been enough for this silly girl? I would have hoped the woman who hired her should have also been sacked, by am sure she has the backing of the Police federation on matters such as this eh?
When we need a police officer to attend our house when we need one, we would be lucky to get one of those plastic bobbies, you know the ones the Local community police. This 17 year old has been afforded a special set of police officers all to herself. It seems that all the police are either interviewing silly little girls, or questioning " alleged " old men in the Yew Tree investigation. Have we not got our priorities wrong somewhere? What about the police offering a service to all ?
It doesn't really matter who are the worst the girls or the boys does it, the point is that many of our teenagers have not been taught respect, they know that the courts will do very little against them, some have a string of convictions with no real action taken to make them change their ways.
I am sure the Police Officers arresting these people are sick to death of the sight of the same old car thieves, burglars and shoplifters, the violent ones and the contstant drunks knowing that they will process them and they will be out doing the same thing the next day, that must be sould destroying at times.
It is time the Nation and the Government brought in some real penalties to stop them, some of us on here remember when you were scared to break the law in a minor way because of a fear of the consequences. that is not the case now.
Is it any wonder that our Police target those who break other laws who will be dealt with, a relatively law abiding middle aged person speeding or having a domestic argument is far more likely to be charged and taken to court (quite rightly) than a teenager caught behind the wheel of his 15th stolen car (quite wrongly).
Don't pay your council tax you will be dealt with, don't pay your TV licence and you will end up in prison, terrorise the people on your estate or steal a car as a youth and you might get a holiday or a free driving course.
We are simply sending out the wrong message to our children and our future.
Surely the right way to tackle this problem is to go to the root of it?
Mids you state you didn't break the law because you were afraid of the consequences. I didn't break the law because I knew it was wrong.
I think not wanting to do something because it is wrong is a position that we should try and get to, much cheaper in the long term and better for the population.
