Upmarket and expensive is good. We had to weeks of luxurious indulgence at Desire and it was worth every penny.
If you are staying on Blvd Kukulkan as it sounds then you will not find much in the way of swinging and indeed sunbathing topless can provoke the wrong reaction if you have a large number of Americans in your hotel. Notwithstanding that you can still have fun in the conventional way at places like Margaritaville, Sr Frogs and others. Not to mention the unmissable Coco Bongo.

Thanks for the reply, our son has been to Cancun before and he has mentioned Coco Bongo's but don't like to ask him if there are any Adult Hotels or Adult fun places to go to lol.
