Simply reminding the English male contingent that are travelling up to the Scottish munch, that kilts ARE compulsory.
OK, they're not really, but it'll be fun, and you can then become a member of the 1st Battalion English Skirt Brigade. ( 1 Batt ESB)
If you haven't got a kilt, you can get them on ebay... ( and you could stick it back on ebay afterwards and get some of your money back...)

Sean any Kilt hire shop - we seen a few black kilts , when our lad was in getting fitted for a kilt for his wedding ..
or failing that try ebay if you want a keepsake smile

try this link Sean... black kilt but not leather.... although there was a black leather one if you search for "leather kilt"
And it may seem a bit steep, but you can always recoup your money by putting it back on ebay after the munch.

Aye, I was looking at getting a kilt, till the missus showed me how much they cost. Even if you cut out the expensive Glasgow retailers, and go to the source (usually in a tourist shack up in the Highlands) you're still talking the best part of Â£300 for a good kilt. Without the trimmings. Alas, until I can splash on such frivolity, it'll be a pair of black trousers and a shirt for muggins. And no clan gatherings either, more's the pity.
Although I have seen some fake ones on eBay (Acrylic not wool) going for about Â£30. But it's not really a kilt.

Dont knock them SBC. I have the full outfit and both a Traditional heavyweight kilt and a lightweight one. I probably wear the lightweight one the most nowadays and haven't noticed a lessening of the effect it can have on a night out :twisted:

We have over 150 people wishing to attend the munch now :happy: :happy:
I'm afraid anyone else at this stage wishing to come along - will have to go on the reserve list for time being..

Sean, the best place to try is the big kiltmakers on High Street in Edinburgh, if you're there any time. Howie is the guy who started doing the non-tartan varieties. I have to warn you, though, they are fearfully expensive.
Me? I wear the feilidh mhor, or folded plaid usually, so am not going to be wearing one to the munch. Too much hassle to re-doafter the event!
