Ohhh I wanna go camping with you and your geetar! :bounce: Can you do singalong stuff, like Neil Diamond can ya can ya? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Sad I can't go to this, cos it looks like it'll be a blast - whens the next one Pete?? lol :bounce:
Based on over 2000 survey results, here are what fellow campers consider essential camping gear - food, sleeping bag, tent, water, first aid kit, torch, knife, change of clothes ie: wet weather gear, lantern, and stove. Bug spray if near water. fold away chair
I know we are only staying 2 nights, but on speaking to someone the other day they had forgotten about a torch
Somewhere I have a water container but if any one else has one that would be handy. (in case i cant find it )
I suggested a gazebo to put over the BBQ in case of rain and showers at the moment seem very likely.
Table to put food on ?
BBQ utensils ?
Pete sorry if this has been sorted in PM's
I'll tell you, you lot o' happy campers, you be glad we're not coming.....the last 2 times we've been camping recently it has poured with rain solidly for 48 hours (remember the beginning of half term anyone???) Our neighbour jokes that he uses us as a camping barometer, if we go the weather is bound to be bad
Have fun !!

Hello lovely peeps kiss
Before I reply to individual parts of the thread I’d just like to say a couple of things, stop groaning at the back smackbottom
Firstly, many thanks to everyone who has, despite a lot of difficulties and last minute changes, decided to come along to this shindig, I’m sure we will have a great time with all of you there.
To explain what happened with the last site, basically they were a bunch of incompetents, Velvet did all the booking, she even paid the booking fee of out of her own pocket, a cheque which was cashed over a month ago rolleyes so Velvet, quite rightly assumed that the booking had been accepted. The sites head office however neglected to forward the booking to the actual site, hence the problems
Velvet, many thanks for all your stirling efforts, and if you have any problems at all with getting your money back, ring me and I’ll get it back for you
Special thanks have to go to the two wonderful ladies who gave me that last minute kick up the backside, encouraged me to keep it going, and simultaneously though separately came up with a few life saving ideas. Winchy and Sass, I owe you one wink
Thanks also have to go to all of you who have PM’d with offers of assistance and equipment, you know who you all are, heartfelt thanks to you all worship
Last Minute Questions
Some of you have PM’d with queries that we can hopefully solve in open forum so that everyone is aware of the result.
1) what time are people intending to arrive?
I personally am hoping to get there around Friday lunch time as I do have a few last minute things to sort out in the morning.
2) what are we doing about cooking / food
Good point dunno as we are now able to have our own individual bbq’s / cooking facilities, do we still need to do the communal cooking / shopping thing?
My thoughts are that we have at least one communal BBQ where everyone chips in as this will help us all to get into the whole spirit of the thing, and for the remainder of the time we cook our own stuff? Your opinions please.
3) how many are staying both nights, how many just the one night. If only staying one night, which one?
4) anyone who is travelling by train / coach and needs picking up, could you please let me have the details asap so that I can arrange transport
:bounce: not long now folks
I have to get the train to london victoria and then travel on the tube....ive never done that on my own before
Pete I am hoping to make the Sat night, but I don't know yet if I will be coming alone (and will need a tent to share) or if Mos can make it confused
I will let you know as soon as I know kiss

I'm picking up on the way but just after lunch time sounds good enough time to set up tent and BBQ and settle for a beer or 3

I'm bringing a chilli (spicey) with me and some french bread not sure far it will go friday night, actually how many people are coming now?
I dont have any of my own cooking stuff at the moment so was relying on the BBQ but might be able to sort something out. I would suggest breakfast be communial as its easier to stick a load of bacon on the bbq at once, i know we might have different rising times (no pun intended) but it might encourage people up everyone sorts there own lunch be it local pub or sandwichs. Grand BBQ saturday night for all.
3) how many are staying both nights, how many just the one night. If only staying one night, which one?
I'm in for the whole thing

I have sorted out the fire pit I built a new frame for it

Last Minute Questions
Some of you have PM’d with queries that we can hopefully solve in open forum so that everyone is aware of the result.
1) what time are people intending to arrive?
Couldnt change appointment so expect to arrive at around
I personally am hoping to get there around Friday lunch time as I do have a few last minute things to sort out in the morning.
2) what are we doing about cooking / food
We are happy to go with the flow and will be bringing a double gaz burner. But think communal cooking seems like a good idea as its more socialable.
Both nights for us
4) anyone who is travelling by train / coach and needs picking up, could you please let me have the details asap so that I can arrange transport
:bounce: not long now folks
We'll be setting off mid afternoon to miss the Bridge traffic ( memories of the last time me and H came down are still fresh confused ) so should be there around teatime and we're staying both nights.
As for plates and stuff, I've got plenty of paper plates and napkins from my coffee mornings so I'll bring them along too. I think communal cooking area is a better idea than having burners going off all over the shop.
Only thing we need to know is are we still doing fancy dress? dunno
Can't wait now!
