"Visiting the clubs can make for a memorable evening. It can also be problematic. One reason for this is due to what we call the taxi scam. It works like this: for every customer brought to a club through the driver’s recommendation the driver receives a whopping € 75.- kickback from the club. What used to be a payment to the driver for delivering a new customer to an establishment has now become a hidden tax upon you, the unwary vacationer. Whether you arrive by taxi or not, the taxi union expects and gets it cut. It has escalated to the point where it's fair to call it outright extortion; the driver is paid whether he recommended the place to you or not, and you are either asked for it directly upon entry, or it is added to your bill. The driver sits outside and waits until he is paid, sometimes he will follow you in and remind the manager that he hasn't received his money yet---in addition to the fare+tip he has already 'graciously' accepted. Best advice is: Don't give the exact address to the taxi driver, but something nearby, lose the taxi, then walk to the club. Never ask a taxi driver to recommend a club."

Just returned from our weekend in Holland, and felt I should report back as some of this info might be useful to you going this weekend.
Went to Fun4Two on Friday evening, and on arrival we were asked to wait a few minutes. The owner duly arrived and proceeds to inform me that my partner wasn’t well groomed, and that he had had some complaints, so we wouldn’t be allowed in. This came as a shock to us as my partner is always impeccably well groomed, and as we had been there 3 nights in a row only a few weekends ago, what had been the complaint. The gist of the matter was that my partner is a fuller figure female. My initial impulse was to smack him in between the eyes, but was dissuaded from this course of action by the size of the doorman standing close by, and also the thought that we would only get branded as another brit hooligan. As we turned to leave with dignity intact, he told us that he would make an exception and allow us in.
In spite of this we had a good night, and my partner had more than enough invitations to play, as she had on our previous visits.
Having been a good boy scout I had an alternative option in hand. We visited another club on the outskirts of Amsterdam, having first checked that they didn’t have a size requirement. The name of the club is Fata Morgana. The staff was wonderful and helpful. They couldn’t do enough. The patrons were warm and welcoming. The club and the facilities were excellent. You must see their outdoor garden, especially on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The website is
Fun4Two is a nice club, but we would not recommend it if your partner is larger than a recent coke snorting super model and not one of the beautiful people in their eyes.
My partner is a fuller figure female, and one hell of a female. We never seem to have any shortage of invitations when we are out to play, and I enjoy every bit of her, and so do the others as far as I can see.
Club fata morgana is an excellent venue, and you could do a lot worse.
