Myself and Midlandsman1970 are organising a Mini-Munch in Burton on Trent on Friday 15th July
The room is already booked provisionally. There will be a buffet laid on and the guests will have a ticket to show to the bar staff every time they go to the bar that will enable them to buy drinks at each. There will be some really good music, but alas no Karaoke.
We have a complete section of the venue to ourselves, which is cordoned off, but not a seperate room and there will be doormen staffing the entrance to make sure that only people on the list are allowed in.
All the bar staff and management know who we are, but there will be other people in the other side of the bar who don't, so I would ask everyone to come dressed in something that they would wear for a "normal" night out on the town.
There will be no charge for the munch as the venue managers are providing the room and the buffet for free.
There are plenty of very affordable hotels close by (within 5 minutes walking distance) and if you want to make a full weekend away there are plenty of attractions such as the coor's brewing museum(with a drink at the end of the tour), Alton Towers is close by, as is The American Adventure theme park.
Within about a 15 minute drive you are in very picturesque open countryside(Peak District) with some breathtaking views.

I think it'll be the Bourbon that'll cost and the coke will be extra, but if you get a large glass of coke, you'll just need to keep nipping to the bar and getting a bourbon
Right. It's taken me 3/4 of an hour to go through the posts and "quote and paste" and "cut and paste" and check my spelling etc. It is now well past 4am real time (ignore what the SH clock says cos thats a totally different story....lol)
