Apparently on this day in 48 BC Pompey the Great is assassinated on orders of King Ptolemy of Egypt after landing in Egypt.
Therefore to celebrate if this we've decided to hold a Social, well you know us any excuse to have a good party will do.
Sadly Lurcio, Ludicrus Sextus, Ammonia, Bilius, Voluptua, Scrubba and Villanus won't be with us, though no doubt various re-incarnations will be

Please note that once again we have exclusive use of this venue.
There will be a door charge of £2 per person to cover the venue cost, music equipment hire etc. with music once again being kindly provided by ‘DJ Russ’ aka Mr Devon4u.
There will be space for 140 invited friends in a central Macclesfield (Cheshire) location
If you wish to be considered for an invite, then please pop your name down.
As always the exact details of the venue will not be sent out to anyone until the week before the Social in order to protect everyone who is attending and to make sure we do not have any uninvited guests, so invitees are kindly asked not to discuss the venue details with those not on the published invite list.
Also as this is a Social event and so there may be people attending who are not members of SH - if you are bringing someone who is not a member or a banned former member, just let us know so we can keep a separate list (available to see on request).
All those accepted onto the invite list will be granted access to the Macc Socials Group : http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/groups/6913/, where they can find the usual hotel, taxi, and other details.
