Regretfully we are going to have to pull out of this trip, finances would just not stand the strain of another trip to Amsterdam. It would have been our third within a year and as Northwest-cpl rightfully say, its not cheap.

We will be hitting the swinging clubs as well, Paradise and Showboat mainly. steer clear of the Candy club unless you like sleaze.
we already have a hotel and flights booked as we were going anyway.

Have just looked up Showboat and checked where it is.
Although it looks OK, it is not in Amsterdam itself but is outside Zandaam in Zanstaad. This is a bit like saying Richmond is in London, Livingstone is in Edinburgh/Glasgow etc.
As in all things in Holland, the distances are not that far but a quick look at the map shows that it is as far from Amsterdam as I am - i.e. 15 train once you get to the station and I reckon that they will not have as good a train service as I do. For me, a taxi from central Amsterdam to my town is about 50 plus euro one way (yes sometimes it has to be done!) so I think 30 euro is a bit optimistic.
Depending on what you are used to this may not seem too bad - look at black cab rates in London for example - but it is still something to be considered.
If a group of people wanted to go, you could possibly use their taxi/minibus service or share a minibus taxi between you to keep the costs down.

Havnet been on for a while but fancied seeing how things were coming along with the Amsterdam thread... We've still got our hotel and flight booked, so no change for us, we'll still be there.
Just wanted to know if anyone has a link or info on club Pleasure as couldnt find anything on a general search?
