Cheers, actually I had looked at past posts but that was after I replied! lol I had noticed the discrepency in age too (but as I've had perfectly decent people give me false names/ages in the past I was going to let that pass for now)
Don't know about you but I often think these sort of sites could do with some sort of rating system..it would be good to know if posters actually turn up for meets, waste time etc. I've had so many problems in the past (it's amazing how many blokes have their car break down on the way to meet me
) that I am on the verge of giving up!

No, it's NOTgoing to happen ever! We've had that debate and it's been put to bed. It's now not open for discussion!

Yes there are time wasters etc but we have met many great people through this site

Sorry, some of us don't have time to browse all previous posts. Some of us have jobs to do and can only pop in occasionally. With an attitude like that, which is hardly welcoming, I'm not sure I want to be here anyway.
Yes, I am a new poster here but have posted on other sites for a long time and it's a problem everywhere. Sorry if it bothers you me bringing it up again but a little politeness is all that is needed in the response.

well the best option in the long run may well be to get to actually know people on the site in the forum and the chatrooms... once you have been here for a while you may get invited to parties and you can put your name down for munches (socials)
obviously some people want everything here and now... but if you invest time in the site then i am sure you have loads of fun......

Thanks Sean, just to explain I can't do chatrooms (don't have the time) and have had no end of problems onprevious sites so, as I said, after a recommendation from a friend just thought I'd say 'Hello' here.
It's not a question of me wanting everything too quick, believe me, at 43 I've been around a while, it's just a question of giving this one last chance before I give up on the whole thing. Hope that makes some sense?

Well time can be an issue, but if you can find time/and be patient, what Sean is suggesting does definitely work. Some people will swear by the add section, and I'm glad for them, but what can happen as you will know only too well from previous experience probably is that they tend to get infested by the likes of this thread starter...........
The forums and the chat room give you a chance to really check that people are what they say thay are, particularly if you can find the time to hang around and come to a munch or two............. there is very little chance of getting away with too many untruths at a munch.

Guess I'm a little bitter but past experiences (and the fact that the first person I contacted on here was also a timewaster
) but, though I can't do chatrooms wil be on the forum when I can (though not a lot during the week as I work full time) and, well, to be honest, I may well be at a munch in a few weeks...been invited by a friend!

Well, with all the things you can't do it's a wonder you have time to actually post!! I was only suggesting that rather than wasting your precious time posting things which others have already done it would be better time management to read through the earlier stuff first.
Of course - you don't bother me in the least. I'm used to it!

Just because he hasn't contacted you yet, doesn't necessarily mean that he's a timewaster. He may not have logged in because he's got a job and may only be able to pop in occasionally, just like you in fact.
Good job you joined if you're going to a munch - whoever the friend is that invited you, should know that munches are only open to members of the site.

Good job you joined if you're going to a munch - whoever the friend is that invited you, should know that munches are only open to members of the site.
Without going into too many details, the first person I contacted has 'confessed' to being a timewaster, who only gets off on initial contact. I wasn't actually talking about the person here but another I had contacted! As I said, I hope that was just a bad initial experience and there's lots more fun to be had.

but there are also plenty of genuine peeps. If you take the time to get to know the regulars in the forum you will normally find something close to where you are (and 100% genuine i can v.....i mean confirm)

Out of curiosity, can I ask where this munch is going to be? Unless it is Wigan in December, or Glasgow in a couple of weeks, then you may find it isn't actually an official munch...
