Threads in various posts do tend to get hijacked Crofty, its one of those things.
There is an encyclopedia of information for newbies to swinging in both the Cafe and Lets Meet sections of Forum. It's very well worth your time to have a read of them. It will take you a day or so, but it will be worth it.
Meeting up is not something that happens quickly, in fact, it can take a lot longer than you may think. You have to get to know others, and, they have to get to know you. Keep posting, join in other 'posts', join the chatroom, attend 'Munches' when one is held somewhere near you. Every little helps.
Like any other community it takes a while to fit in, once you are accepted, who knows what will happen.

I would like to apologise openly - I did not mean to hi-jack your thread.
Just join in the conversations on here and get to know people and get to be known too.
Because of the recent unwarranted media coverage over Stan Collymore, there has been a big increase of people coming to the site. Some maybe genuine but most seem to see this place as somewhere to get a quick shag. That may indeed happen, however most 'activities' take place after a period of getting to know each other - as it does in normal day-to-day life.
So as Harry said - take some time to get to know us. Just be aware that most people on here also have a wicked sense of humour - so try not to take things that are said too seriously or personally. Keep chatting and let your personality shine through. It will pay dividends in the end!

Actually I was the worst for being impatient when I joined, expecting ladies to be knocking down my door after one badly worded ad but these guys & girls will soon put you straight, enjoy the banter, even without a meeting this place is great to hang out & have a laugh
