How do you get known?

Hi guys, how do you get known on the site? We would love to go to stuff like munch's and socials(wild rose and the stag's wedding do sounds cool) but we are not sure how to get known. Is it difficult? i understand the reason to be discrete and such but how can we meet some of the others on the site,you all sound like our kind of people(a little mad).Thats it, just a simple queation that will probably open a huge can of worms.

if it makes you feel any better.. i didn't go to my first munch till i was 6 months in.... smile

i think janeandwill hit the nail on the head... it is more a case of just becomming more familar on the site...and besides the better you know a little about the people attending, the more you will enjoy the events.....
looking forward to seeing you both at a munch soon.....

You need to put a lot of time and effort into posting in the forums and in the chatrooms, it's a long journey but trust me it is worth it biggrin

I was very fortunate to have been allowed to go munches very quickly in relation to when I joined. But I was on the old chat room before the site revamp all the time, lol. Like everyone has said, post on the forums and chat in the chat room. Tell people about yourselves. Start a thread about something.....either a brief intro about yourselves or something funny or serious. It enables people to see what kind of a person(s) you are. It's all about trust, and if people trust you then you'll be literally dragged to munches. I was threatened by a couple of people that if I didnt show myself at a recent munch (I wasnt able to go at the time for various reasons sad

, and people bent over backwards to help me.....and I did go in the end biggrin

)that they would show up outside my flat and kidnap me! lol
Its a good community and you'll soon be invited to go to munches....but as the saying goes....."You get out what you put in...."

We r quite new but have now been to a couple of meets and quite a few people have met us. Very lucky that we knew one couple from another site and they vouched for us at the time
