i shouldnt have worried too much my ad had gone,
Mark Surrey - I have checked out why your ad has disappeared.... you apparently were using two email addresses, therefore I assume the ad that has gone was associated with the 2nd? Anyways, your other ad (the one on your sig) is still active and people are free to reply to it.
Hope this helps
I've pondered over this thread and to be honest I find it rather disconcerting.
I read, re-read and then re-read again to try and find what was so annoying about the original post that sparked such responses albeit maybe meant as 'banter' as to almost spark a 'flame war'.
I'm more upset at the tone of 'conform to our thoughts of what you should do and say, or suffer the scarcastic consequences' that seemed to be inlaid in the choice of words used.
It just seems odd that we've had recent threads on tolerance posted in the forum, yet here we have a relatively new poster (like myself) being ridiculed without pointing out that it's meant as a 'joke' or 'guidance'. I read some of the posts and was imeadiatly transported to a school playground of "Bigger Boys & girls" picking on a newboy who is trying to find his way and is unaware of the 'agreed rules' that elements wish new people to follow to confirm to 'their ways'.
I felt moved enough to comment, and will probably no doubt be told the error of my ways ..... but I would ask anyone reading this to just pause for a moment and read all the previous posts and put yourself in the position of someone fairly new, not knowing the 'banter' that goes on, not being told in the posts that they are jokes, suddenly seeing words like 'deactivate', 'twat' etc. and wondering "What have I done wrong?" ..... and then also think "What would the sainted Judy TV say on this matter". (someone I admire for their insiteful views on nearly anything and everything - if JudyTV says that I'm wrong then I'll accept it and offer an apology as well).
I just had a nasty taste in my mouth after reading the thread and felt I had to offer my thoughts.
Now you can all call me 'twat' and that I can't take a joke etc. and I shall be hurt for several days but hopefully rebound.
True BlueXXX a lot of the posts are crap I agree, it just struck me that ridicule is not the best form of instruction ..... but there we go.
As for myself, I read the forums cos of people like JudyTV (and actually some of yours too!)
Take care and may all our wishes come true
