Spa keep a look out honey as I may open the single guys list...... It depends on how many drop out as I get the confirmations
Gandb The list is still open for couples so watch your pm box for your invite OK

Since when did anyone discriminate between single guys and couples at a Munch? The whole idea is that a Munch is a meeting of members and that is not affected whether you are single or not. This seems to be moving away from a 'munch' to a private party.
Mal
Any room for a first timer?
If so please add me, I am a single female.

Mal have you seen the details elsewhere then?
I think this may well put loads off, particularly if they know trhere might be trouble. Plus, if it's been broadcast, what's to say that press won't turn up?

I have nothing further to add or discuss regarding this situation.
However, I will reiterate the point that a munch is open to all and not trying to balance Couples and single guys, which I also mentioned ealier and hasn't been responded to.
Mal
The afters party is not the Munch, so I'm not concerned about the invites to that. I agree that numbers need to be controlled, but not to the detriment to one class of people.
I wasn't aware that the Essex MUnch was restricting single guys either. I will have a look at it now.

The EXACT details of the venue were passed to us after someone saw them on another site. I have seen the post myself, I can assure you that Mal is telling the absolute truth. Steph is also correct that the details were removed within the hour, but they should never have been allowed to be posted on ANY site, inclduing this one come to that! The fact that someone so untrustworthy was allowed access to such information is frankly shocking (that is me speaking personally, not as a mod btw). The fact is that the venue details WERE published on the web and it is only right that the guest of this munch know that fact. The chances of trouble are slim, but still, it is worth people knowing.
It is important that for future munches the organisers tell as few people as possible the details of the venue etc, and that they ensure that they are not published ANYWHERE - not on this forum or any other.
The restriction of single males is out of order - munches are SOCIAL gatherings open to ANYONE who is a user of swinging heaven. If you have to close a list due to too many people, you should close the list to all, and not discriminate.
Sorry Blue, I wasn't trying to insinuate that Mal was fibbing. Apologies to Mal also if that's the impression I gave. I'm also amazed that someone has leaked the information and possibly compromised what should be a very good night out for all. What a shame that someone tried to spoil it.

That isn't really the point. We have never shared a munch with ANY site let alone one that posts details on its forum for anyone at all to see. The people that allowed this posting else where new the reasons why we keep tigh lipped with munch details so surely they could only have posted them for some personal gain dunno
Doormen or not, I think we have a security risk even going anywhere near the place. Who knows who will be standing outside, just round the corner or in the carpark.
I dread to think who else will be in the club :eeek: and I'm not risking having my picture taking going through the door to a club :!:

If we cancel - then she wins. I can assure you that every precaution will be in place for the protection of site members.

I never said anyone had to cancel the event. I simply made some aware of the risks and how I personally feel about the whole debacle.

I feel everything that can be done to prevent the munch being ruined is being done. I appreciate some will have concerns and I am more than happy to discuss those concerns but a Munch is only a Social gathering by definition. I am sorry if you feel you have to pull out but I do understand.

I don't remember saying I wasn't going to the munch. I think you will find my comments are about being seen going in or out of a club now the details are public knowledge
I didn't realise that when Ian signed up for the munch it was presumed we were going to the club anyway. I thought they were seperate events dunno

MODERATORS WARNING
the details of the Munch have been compromised and all details of where and when, including the bowling and the after hours party, have now been openly published elsewhere on the web. This can now no longer be classed as a 'Swinging Heaven only' Munch. Also, we have been informed that members of this other site may be going out of their way to cause trouble at this event. Please bear this in mind when considering attending.
Mal

Please please please let's get the security issue into perspective.
The details of the munch venue were posted onto another site on Friday 21st at The poster has now realised that he should not have done that.
The moderators of that site edited his post and removed the location details at on Saturday 22nd - 2 hours and 14 minutes later.
This other site requires users to be registered in order to read any forum posts.
At the time the post was made, there were 109 registered users there, so only 109 people had access to this information. If you were to take a look at who these 109 registered users are you'd recognise many as being bona-fide members (or ex-members) of SH.
Certainly noone can say there is zero risk. I would suggest that the chances of the location details being compromised are minimal. I would also suggest that ANY munch stands a greater risk of being compromised through other means. I have had strangers in the chatroom trying to weedle this kind of information out of me in the past (and you'll be pleased to hear I didn't let on about anything).
So please don't be put off coming.... It's going to be a great night and everyone involved in the organisation of this munch is going to be taking your privacy and security as their number one priority.

With the greatest respect to everyone concerned, OK, the details were only posted on a quiet site for just over two hours.... not a big deal, right? But we have already established that these details were posted maliciously - yes? Pertinently Lucifer, as you say.... these details were seen by EX-MEMBERS of swinging heaven. Those individuals are ex members for a reason. They are no longer members, therefore they should know nothing about this munch. Am I correct? I do not know how the organisaers can assure safety to everyone at this munch.... OK, in the venues, yes. But what about on the street, car parks etc.???? If I was going to this munch, which I have never planned to, I am not ashamed to say that I would be watching my back. Paranoid? Maybe, but better safe than sorry. I am not going to try and influence anyone's decison to go to this munch, frankly I don't care whether people go or not. All else I have left to say that this is shoddy behaviour, and it has compromised EVERYONE who does plan to attend. It doesn't bode well for the friendly relaxed atmosphere that people have come to expect from swinging heaven munches.
Hi Steph,
We're still coming to the munch...........you have our full support. We also agree with you Mark. People had to be warned. So it is up to the individual to make his or her mind up.
We are all in here to enjoy ourselves, so if you have your name down for the munch, bowling or afters party don't let any outside people put you off........just go out there and have lots of fun.
See you all soon.
Tanina & Stuart hump xxx
In fact Steph, we've already got the hotel room booked lol and we're not backing out.
Tanina & Stuart hump xxx
You also have my full support Steph, but I agree with Stuart and Tanina, it had to be said to give people a chance to make up their own minds.....
But I say Roll On 12th Feb..... :bounce:
well i am still coming!
i will just wear a mask to beat the potential reporters/photographers! lol
lol yeah i know...... any excuse for fancy dress! wink
Hi Steph
We are both gutted!!!!! we were really looking forward to coming to this and losing our club virginity, Unfortunately Macs work have changed his shift and he has to work that evening until 4am
We are really sorry and appreciate all the hard work you have put in, we had the hotel booked and everything.
We think you were right to tell everyone about the problems you have had and leave it to the individual to make an informed decision. It has not put us off going, just Macs bully boy bosses. They don't realise people have lives of their own.
Any way, enough pontificating, hope you all have a great time and we look forward to seeing you all at another munch.

Steph, you have my full support. You have put a lot of work into this and I believe you should be congratulated on your efforts, you have done us proud. It would be a shame if this indiscretion were to put people off coming to this munch. This will be the first of its kind in Leicester and promises to be a momentous occasion. You have put together a program of 'enertainment' throughout the day and evening that are quite unique and would be a pity to miss. I for one shall be there and look forward to seeing old friends and meeting a few new ones. This is going to be one very special event I wouldn't want to miss...hope to see you all there!
