When I first read that I thought you said "beer and goggles", Cath lol.
I usually end up wearing my 'beer goggles' at the end of every munch, so expect no different this coming weekend, lol.

Bad luck mate, I always stumble across your posts in here and you deserve better.
As for me, accommodation booked in walking distance, research completed on real ale pubs in area, Film sorted (but I will miss the football but not a fan anyway), all I need to do now is decide whether to drive or train it, and get my best clothes washed and ironed.
Are there any dress codes, as i would hate to get all the way there and then be turned away as I have on inappropriate footwear/trousers. I can prepare for that.

I've not heard of a dress code HJ... so you'll be ok for your 6inch red stilletto's and those plus fours! :evil2:

Shut up Postie - I meant re jeans/trainers and you know it lol. Looks like I will be playing safe in what I always wear - Blue/yellow checked shirt, buff trousers, brown shoes, boring I know but at least you can get in anywhere. :idea:

Attention All First Time Munchers....
This idea has been cleared through Steph and Dawn_Mids
OK. For those who'll be coming to their FIRST MUNCH, we have a "chaperone service" available. This is to get you through the door, to the bar, and let you hang on to our apron strings until you find someone you know and your nerves subside.
I will give you my mobile number (via pm) for you to call when you are about to arrive or standing out in the dark trying to not just run away. I don't want your mobile number! Either myself or another chaperone, will come outside to meet you. Simple.
So, you think you'll maybe find it intimidating or you have a touch of nerves, as we ALL had for our first munch, then please feel free to use us. I am willing to chaperone any males, if there are female regulars who want to chaperone any females that'd be a bonus, so please contact Steph and add your name on this thread. Couples can choose who they get to chaperone them I guess!
So, don't feel shy about contacting myself, Steph or anyone else who volunteers for this. We know only too well how a munch can be quite a scary thing to walk into, although you wont believe it until you have been to one why you were so nervous beforehand!!!
Lastly for anyone who's first munch this is and feels like they would like any questions answering before they get there, please get in touch via the pm button located at the bottom of this entry. ( I know it's obvious but imagine how weird the Forum is to those "chatroom only" types!!!)
All requests for chaperoning will be strictly confidential...

The first munch I went to was only a very mini one but I was struggling to find the place and then struggling to find the people inside. Even at the second event I attended I was a bit edgy till I found someone I recognised (I am soo bad at recognising people, so apologies now if a) I don't recognise you or b) start my evening talking to the only three people in the whole of swinging heaven I recognise for sure
