On this day in history Universal Time meridian of longitude was established, i.e. Universal Time (UT) being a time scale based on the rotation of the Earth. It is a modern continuation of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), i.e. the mean solar time on the Prime Meridian at Greenwich, and GMT is sometimes used loosely as a synonym for UTC.

Therefore to commemorate this great occasion we've decided to hold a Social, well you know us any excuse to have a good party will do

Date : Saturday 13th October 2012
Venue : Macclesfield
Time : 8pm until 01:30am

Please note that once again we have exclusive use of this venue.
There will be a door charge of £2 per person to cover the venue cost, music equipment hire etc. with music once again being kindly provided by ‘DJ Russ’ aka Mr Devon4u.

As always the exact details of the venue will not be sent out to anyone until the week before the Social in order to protect everyone who is attending and to make sure we do not have any uninvited guests, so invitees are kindly asked not to discuss the venue details with those not on the published invite list.
Also as this is a Social event and so there may be people attending who are not members of SH - if you are bringing someone who is not a member or a banned former member, just let us know so we can keep a separate list (available to see on request).
All those accepted onto the invite list will be granted access to the Macc Socials Group : http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/groups/6913/, where they can find the usual hotel, taxi, and other details.
