As you more-or-less say, it's a matter of "you pays your money and you takes your choice". I've been to a couple of places in Blackpool - avoid Euphoria (boring) and Buddies (horrid). I've been to Infusion a couple of times but I've always found it really quiet - in fact one night we went there were only three people there including us! However it does have a large pool and it gets good reviews. Adam and Eves in Manchester is meant to be good, though like you I prefer Cupids. The Townhouse in Wirral gets rave reviews but I've not been.

We live up that neck of the woods (normally) and Partners is local to us and we like it. But for what you are describing I would suggest you make the journey down to the Midlands and try Chameleons. They have hotel rooms on site and the whole armosphere is very sexy and laid back and is open in the afternoon as well. pay your admission at 1pm on saturday and you can stay till the early hours of Sunday morning and you get to your rooms from inside the Club.
We love it for that reason and our trip to the Club is a big and relaxing event.
