Nope - Ive been chatting to Em - and as me n Dave cant make this October Maccs due to the Charity Car Rally we are taking part in i am hoping you lovely people are gonna make her very very welcome, she's a lovely lady ;) And its usually the single males that HnS ask for a vouch for on the forum thread - rather glad i'm not a single female newbie here if thats the kind of response thrown out on a first attempt at getting to know people by attending a social evil
I don't think it's unreasonable to question why some people appear to be added without a public vouch request. In Sherbetlemon's case, her profile said she'd been here before and I enquired as to her previous username. Call me over-cautious but it has been known in the past for people (having been members before) to turn up and cause problems. And they don't have to actually be inside the venue to cause issues. In EmmEva's case, she says that Alt two have spoken to her - I would assume that by mentioning their names, she'd think they will vouch for her.

contacted by some one who's been to several Maccs.
There's always a simple explanation.
And for anyone asking to come who doesn't have someone to vouch for them: get yourselves into the chat rooms and get chatting. Be friendly and likable, and someone will vouch for you. There's plenty of time.
Better yet, maybe arrange just a social drink, just to show you are who you say you are.

Wow, as I mentioned, I am a complete newbie to this..I thought I had set notifications to receive responses but clearly I am as poor at understanding that as I am at picking up the etiquette of the site/scene. Whoops!
I have met some lovely people on here, in the short time I have been on here; I have been in the chatroom - thanks for that tip - though I haven't dipped a toe in the pool or propped up the beach bar as yet. It's all still new and I am finding my feet.
I am a social person and thought I would seek an invite, completely unawares of what a public vouch is.. and I still don't know! Please do educate me.
And thanks to Minikat for the lovely chat and public vouch of my intentions. You are very kind and a shame you can't be there. Does Minikat's public post count??
I cammed the other night too..though I honour people's right to discretion and I'm not sure I will offer them up as 'vouchees', I will give up my invite if needs be - I am most certainly not a party pooper and I am as genuine and considerate as I promise to be. Anyway, I am not in to public 'prodding'(well this kind), nor am in to falling out with people I haven't had the pleasure of meeting. Perhaps I could come along, behave, chat, have fun - I assure you have fabulous social skills so I doubt very much I will cause any riotous situations or offence. I'm quite nice really, what you see is most certainly what you get.

I have only been to one social, the last maccs one. It was a great weekend which is why I have requested an invite to this one. H&S put in a lot of hard work organising these socials and they have the right to except or reject any requests they see fit to and what a great job they did of vetting people for the last one, there was no trouble that I'm aware of and you really couldn't ask to meet a friendlier bunch of people, I was made to feel very welcome by everyone and as a seasoned pro now lol I will be doing the same to all the newbies I meet in October.
Back to the original issue. If you put your name on the list and attend the socials you are bound to at some point to bump into new people and even people you really don't want to, if your not happy with the way the organisers do things maybe you should remove yourself from the list and arrange your own social with your own rules.
