Mal’s on tour ! 3rd – 6th Oct

Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.
Yep, I’ve been let loose on the unsuspecting public on my new bike en route to the Great North Run!! lol

On Friday 3rd October I’m riding up to Newcastle from Milton Keynes . My route takes me along the M1 and A1 and I’m looking for tea stops (or whatever wink

) anywhere along that route during Friday. I can be quite flexible, so if you are within 30 miles either side of that route, that works for me!
On Sunday I’ll be a bit preoccupied running the race itself, but would be interested in meeting up Sunday evening anywhere between Newcastle and Teesside.
On Monday I will begin my return journey down the A1 and M1 and same rules apply – tea stops 30 miles either side of the route.
I would be specifically interested in hearing from anyone who lives in South Shields, just for a bit of background info please.

Bollox, I'm riding the R6 back up on Saturday 4th from Bucks to Newcastle and would have enjoyed the company!
I'm in London all day Friday so can't switch it either evil

On saturday, Sam, I hope to do a recce of South Shields to find the best way out of there after the race! With over 52,000 runners and all the crowds, it's a bloody nightmare trying to escape!! :shock:
I've just picked up the new bike and realy looking forward to the ride lol

Thans for the good wishes. I really think this will be my last race - the training is getting harder :cry:

Thanks again for the good wishes. The bike is fuelled and polished and ready for the off. I'm all sorted for accommodation for the weekend, but still looking for any tea stops either tomorrow (Friday) or Monday. I'll be setting off mid morning so hopefully it'll be a good ride!!
I'm as ready as I'll ever be for the race - let's hope it's a good 'un!! lol
