Gosh.... Same question could apply to the answer. Where to begin??
I guess it just depends what you want out of the site. But my advice would be take it slowly, be respectful, let people know you're newbies (we all started somewhere!) and see what you think might work for you.
You can spend time in the chat rooms (and join in the conversation, so people get to know you), check out the "Let's Meet Up" bit to see if there's anything you fancy, maybe place your own ad (with a date, time and location included so people can work out if they can get there). Maybe check out other people's profiles too, to see how they present themselves?
And think of it like "real life", in that a bit of friendly chat is a good ice-breaker, although on here we all know that the sex thing is a bit closer to the surface than it would be if you were chatting in Sainsburys....!
Socials are a good way to meet people without feeling pressured.
Oh - and I don't want to put you off, but the site is home to a significant number of time wasters, so if you fix up a meeting, try not to commit a lot of time or money unless you are pretty sure the other person is genuine and will turn up. Many of us have been left in the lurch by people who said they wanted to meet, but then never returned messages....

Go slow until you sus out who is genuine and what you want.
You will come across some idiots who can quickly become rude and even abusive. ignore them or report them on here. Don't suffer them and don't let them get under your skin.

If you want to talk about sex this site is fine, but if you are genuinely interested in meeting people for sex then you might be better finding a club or party to visit.

Socials are very good to meet and chat, you can get a feel for the pit falls then as well . but as above, take your time and make sure you are both comfortable with it.
