Paul you probably won't get in any of the ones that others are in now - the ones on the list are full, unless they've had any cancellations of course.

We've found and booked into a reasonably priced hotel which Sean reckons is not too far from the venue. Don't know if they've any rooms left but if anyone wants the link, feel free to pm me.

There seems to be some confusion over munch hotels for what ever reason. confused

Therefore if you wish please PM me your munch hotel details, I will make one long list (if it gets that long) and pm it back to those who pmed me in a few days.
Please also indicate if you know if the hotel still has any rooms left or is full

Me and MrsFC have some plastic sheet, some milk crates and have found a pleasent little bridge under which we can stay the night blink

I don't know of any hotels in particular, but about 10 miles gives you a fair number of places to choose from. Where have you tried looking already? There's quite a few near where I live in South Shields - it's about 10 miles away, on the coast. (Which is why we have so many hotels and guesthouses, most of which are no longer full of holidaymakers.) I've got a few links that might point you in the direction of a few of them, but I won't post them in public for fairly obvious reasons. Other places you might look include Sunderland or Washington, both also within your distance limit.

As Sean pointed out in his pm, the venue does not know exactly what sort of group we are. Also, as Sean said, we all have to be very discreet with words and actions at the party.
Anybody think of a convincing cover story, just in case one of the staff say, "what sort of group are you then?"

Well, I think at Leic II we were an internet chess club, and somewhere else it was a knitting cirlce.

Has everyone at a munch been asked then? We never have. I doubt the bar staff will worry who/what we are unless there's any trouble - which is very unlikely. It's like being a teenager again, telling your parents you were at one mates when you were somewhere else. lol

Don't worry about it......
They know that it is an internet chat site that are meeting.......just not exactly what type, and they staff in the pub are lovely and i am sure you'll keep them so busy at the bar that they won't have time to ask........ smile

well, this is my first munch, and although im not exactly a shy person,
im slightly nervous about setting foot into a room of strangers who seemingly
all know each other already....
so,
are there any others in the same predicament who may fancy a quick drink beforehand
or are there any regulars who fancy taking us under your wing to help us ease in gently?
