Norwich Beer Festival Wed 24 Oct

Alternate title: Cheers lol...raise ur glass to the mighty mammon which I shall hopefully have my lips around biggrin

Hi all
It's that time of year again and I am determined not to go down sick like last year.
This will be my third year of organising such a social.
We meet up in a pub to socialise, then those of us who like or wish to try real ale move onto the beer festival (where there is a brass band playing on the wednesday evening), leaving the others behind in the pub. Once we have tried enough lovely beers, we go back to the pub to see if anyone is left then for those like me who by then have long missed the last train it's off back to my hotel.
The 2005 event was a great evening where I met many splendid couples for the first time.
Four pounds to get in (dont forget you get a band for that and acess to loads of great beer) and is of course free for CAMRA members.
I already have one couple and one single female interested so get your names in.
Ask if you need further details. I will try and book the day off so we can start early evening and not have to queue too long to get in. :D

This is as much a part of my social calendar as Henley and Ascot are for the toffs. I shall be there. I got to try 30 beers last year. (Not all on one day I hasten to add)

A couple of pints (or in my case half-pints) is the phrase you mean and of course I will, especially as you always provide me with a proper pint glass to enjoy my wonderful beers from whenever I visit biggrin

I'd hate Harry to think I'm a piss-artist. I go to taste, not to guzzle. My son and I buy half pints and taste each others beers. It was over several lunchtimes and evening sessions too.

I always plan to taste and share but arrive late and then rush the clock and no fun at all.

The beer list is now up on the website.
Whilst I cannot guarantee any particular beers being on the night we are there fingers crossed for the following selection:
Fat Cat Marmalade Cat 5.2 (This is magic stuff)
Green Oak Worthog 13.5 (Who's going to push me to the train station if I get even a whiff of this)
Gribble Bashful Beaver 4.3
It's a really good varied list this year, stuff I don't know, old favourites, strong blow your head off beers and weak subtle ones for newbies.
I am now officially excited enough to do a pm for those coming.

Woo Hoo! Worthog! My pub made that in their back yard. It's brilliant but ya can't drink it fast, it's a real sipper.
