i went to my first social was in Dec ....Marcuso Christmas social ....great night and a fab gent ...i was made too feel welcomed as soon as i walked through the door
my first munch in Jan ...DeMoNPeBles ....another great night..and wonderful couple
i would like too say it is a bit nervous but you are made too feel welcomed and the hole point of socials/munches is for everyone to meet old and new friends and to enjoy and have fun
it doesn't matter wherever you arrive early or late ...just be yourself and turn up
i have been nervous at each one i've been too so i think perhaps this never goes ...but then nerves add too the fun

What does happen at a munch? I've never been to one before and just a bit unsure what to expect. Whats the best time to arrive etc..I mean one doesn't want to be unfashionably late!
If you are on the list, you will get PM a few days before the day of the munch, giving full details, including times.

Obviously if youre not on the nw munch list already, it's tough cookies this time! But the next one is never too far away in the Nw social circle! 
As has already been said, the organisers PM you details of the venue and time that this can be accessed and often where you can park if youre driving there and not staying over. Some people turn up dead on the time given and others about 30 mins to an hour after. I got lost once and arrived at a yorkshire munch at about 11pm
but that one is more rare cos it's only polite to say if you can't make it, then the place can go to someone else. Just like any other party really.
Once at the munch, it is just like a big family party, usually held in the private room of a pub, but without the fight at the end (you lot haven't seen my family!). People drink, chat, dance and get to know the people they've previously only seen online.... putting faces to names is always nice in my opinion, thats why I go to them. A good night out with likeminded friends with no pressure to play.
Sometimes there is a dressing up theme ie. cowboys and indians but other than that smart casual is probably what the majority of people wear, just what you'd wear on a normal night out on the town really.

Edited to add, munches are by invite only. If you have not asked to go and the list is full, members are not permitted to tell others where it is held as a matter of security. You are not allowed to just turn up on the night un-invited.

I do have an invite..I got a message from vikki_uk cordially inviting me. In response to Judy's question why have I not been on one before,well I think its down to 2 things,gfirst nerves!! and secondly I'm a quite shy person I think...I dont think I have the self esteem and courage just to go up to someone and start a conversation. I'm looking forward to it in a scared sort of fashion.I just hope my ex doesn't want me to look after my kids.
