We changed the name of the thread to reflect the next gig Does anyone out there do other 'normal' things as well as swinging? We are mad keen 10 pin bowlers, northern soul addicts and also enjoy walking. Problem is, we can't walk into a bowling alley and shout, "Any swingers in here?". We can't realistically drop into a northern soul forum and ask the same question. Nor can we go onto a walking forum and ask if anyone fancies walking 10 miles of Hadrians Wall then jumping into a 4 person hot-tub. So I guess the only alternative is to ask in here.... So - Do any couples have similar interests to us that fancy meeting up? We enjoy weekends away with similar minded people so distance isnt that much of an issue either. If so, drop us a line. :lol:

Enjoy the bowling.... although a decent standard occasional bowler, rather than any kind of expert. OK to the walking, but don't get a lot of time.... and Northern Soul not my thing I'm afraid. So probably one and a half out of three. Happy to make the numbers up if you're arranging any bowling nights out in the NW. (With or without the hot tub afterwards :wink: :wink: !!) Dan

hi plc, where d you guys bowl, lemme guess, its probably the mill or megabowl, i used to average 180 which was pretty good, my best ever was 260 which was unbelievable. thinking of getting back into it, maybe we oughts make up a trio team, in more ways than one, lol. love to hear from yas,even if its only local chat. Still to try the new alley at Blackburn. Heard it's good but expensive. And I'm as poor as a church mouse you know. And I rolled a 214 last night Still waiting for an invite to roll Lil tho :P
hi there if your planning a bowling night out with a swinging difference then count us in lol, i ( suzie used to league bowl, many moons ago) but not played since we had 2 extra kids lol but we will be up for a fun night of laughter, broken nails, and of course a few drinks lol
hi plc couldnt help noticing your post. i dont mind a night out bowling from time to time but as summer is almost here and me living in north wales there is nothing better than fun in the great outdoors and with some great northern soul music to have fun to. i would also say if you went into a northern do and shouted for swingers most would prob send you the park with their kids so they could do the all dayer. :evil2:
Well The old names and faces have been attracted back to the lure of a game of ten pin. And a few new ones as well I'm glad to see. If we generate a bit more interest I'll organise another bowling / curry night. Might even try the new alley in Blackburn. Who is up for it?

It's the music of the Gods If you like Tamla Motown, the ones with a fast beat then chances are you'd like Northern... I've been a soulie since I was 14... so many decades later am still a soulie. We are thinking of putting a wooden floor down in a room of ours and we had to test the panels to make sure they were danceable... PLC will know what I mean. KTF!

Sorry... I realise now how that sounds... we merely felt them for slippiness... soz, didn't mean you to think that I'd ordered the assistants to lay them on the floor and dance on em... a bit like Johnny wotsits travelling northern soulies complete with talc and lino! LOL And now its bugging me cos I cannot remember the artiste's name or the name of the track that always introduced that segment on johhny vaughan's show... it is a woman... please put me out of my misery!
