I`ve been wanting to organise an event for ages, but have often felt for Steve when us dirty buggers start tarting in vanilla environments. I`m far too cowardly to take responsibility for that. That`s why I chose paintball. Dress code leaves no room for risque (I bet you`ll bloody find a way to get past that though!),
there`ll be no alcohol, and if I see anyone getting their bits out, then I get to shoot at the white bits. :twisted: (which is probably why Marms hasn`t signed up)

Oh, by the way, you probably won`t be able to snipe from trees (just in case anyone seriously wondered), I already asked at a previous paintball because that is just my style :twisted: Insurance is unlikely to cover tree climbing! *pout*

This sounds loads of fun could you provisionally put my name down please, just a couple of quick questions :-
1) serious one - when does deposit have to be paid by ?
2) any chance of having a list supplied of the people likely to be suffering PMT at the time so we men know who to avoid or if going to be too many having the chance to show our cowardice and cancel before hand - he he only kidding really dont want to upset anyone

The deposit has to be in five working days before the event, although as they have agreed to close the site off to the general public if we hit 60 people or more (which I am comfortable we will) I think the sooner the better really! Anyone who wishes to pay their deposit now can PM me for the details.

Well, the site in question supplies armoured vests, so your chest will be well protected, as will your face, because there's a legal requirement for all paintball sites to equip players with full face masks. As an added precaution though Phil, might I recommend the purchase of a cricketer's box... :shock:

The more I read about paintball on the net, the more frightening it sounds. Have any of you actually done it before, or are you just trying to scare us newbies? Come on, be honest now, what's it like?

I've played several times before and it's great fun. It's not dangerous as long as all the safety rules are observed, such as 'no removing masks in the game zone' and 'no head shots allowed'.
A paintball hit will sting quite a bit if it impacts on bare flesh, or areas covered in light fabric such as a t-shirt or sweatshirt, so I'd recommend a thick jumper be worn to help absorb some of the impact.

Thanks flapjackboy, but thick jumpers, helmets, masks, thick protective clothing, running about in the (possible) heat of an August day? People are going to be sweating bucketloads!

I`ll be wearing the flak jacket, and of course, helmet, but it`s going to be pretty warm, so I`m not bothering with heavy clothes. After the first game or so, the adrenalin will be flowing so much you`ll hardly notice the paintballs. Honest.
You`ll just be fairly surprised at your bruises the next day! :giggle:
