It has been brought to my attention through a cpl of pm's rolleyes

some people's anxiety as to the security of the munch venue.. Just to alleviate some these fears or anxieties you may well have , what I will say to you is the munch venue is being held in a "Private function suite!!
There will be a swinging heaven Doorman on the door with the list invitees.. :small-print:
Under NO circumstances whatsoever will anyone whose name is not on the List be allowed entrance.
AIso we stress that everyone's safety to us is paramount..
Therefore we hope to ensure you as members... to the best of our ability a safe ,relaxed..stress free night

I know this was talked about back in October, but are we going to go for some kind of dress code on this one? How about making it formal? There's something about a room full of ladies in party frocks that really perks us up. Guys in party frocks just make us want to laugh, mind you.

Kilts were mentioned for the guys, but I don't have one, and they're a bit dear to hire.
I'd also like to point out, that I look so dazzling in a Kilt, that Paramedics would also need to be hired for the venue to deal with all the swooning ladies. ;)

My thought is that munches are purely social events where no play takes places. Plenty of drinking IS allowed though!

Bearing in mind the private function suite is within a Pub and it is a purely Social event !!

Just a quick message for those from down here in England who might be planning to travel up for the munch by train via the west coast route (via Crewe, Carlisle etc.). I have just discovered that on the Easter weekend there is no train service between Preston and Carlisle due to engineering work, there is instead a bus link between the two places for all rail passengers, which will take two hours, which will of course add one heck of a lot to journey times. So anyone from the midlands or southern England is strongly advised to travel via the east coast route, via York and Newcastle - this route seems to be running normal times.
