I can understand the nervousness guys but I can assure you that once you're there you'll be wondering what all the fuss was about. This will be the fifth munch I've been to and I've heard the same thing said by lots of people.
One suggestion I would make is that the 'newbies' get there earlier rather than later. The munch will kick off at around 7pm but myself and a couple of others will be there just before then. I'm pretty sure you'll be more comfortable getting there early so you can meet other people as they arrive rather than get there later and be faced with a pub full of people you don't know.

We have sent a pm to Steve, but we thought it only fair and right that we let everyone know that we arent going to be able to attend the munch.
We had a room booked at the ********* Hotel, as recommended by Steveg_nw, however, we had had to cancel it, so Im sure that anyone looking for a room will have snapped it up by 4 pm today.

Guys………please stop sending me e-mails asking for details, you’re wasting both my time and your own. The details are only going to be given out through the pm system so by default that means registered users of the site only.
I’m also not going to be swayed by requests for information using the pm system. This may sound harsh but the munch is for users of the site and details are not going to be sent out to people who have only just registered and made one or two posts asking to come along. There is still longer than two weeks to go which is plenty of time to join in and make yourself known.

We're at 104 definites and another 35 possibles.
Myself and Vicky_uk are gonna go down and have a word with the landlord on Thursday night to see how many people he and his pub can safely handle. There'll be no room for his regulars at this rate.
If we have to put a ceiling on the numbers I'll post the limit here on Friday. Until then I'm just gonna have to stick with the current list. I'll send out a copy of the list to everyone concerned so that they know that they're on it. If your name's on the list and you're not down as confirmed then please let me know one way or the other.

For the time being I've had to close the list. The response has been far greater than I anticipated and I'm concerned about the capacity of the venue. Myself and Vicky are going down to talk things through with the landlord tomorrow night and we should come away with a number that we're all comfortable with. If there's room for any more I'll let you know but I won't be able to say until Friday.
