Not sure if this is in the right section. Someone mentioned that Tuesday was free for couples at Xanadu's before 10pm. I just looked on their website and it does indeed say free before 10pm subject to corkage fee if you bring your own drink. Does anyone know how much it is? Thanks.
I don't even know what a corkage fee is! Have I made myself look very stupid now redface
Exactly Scandal! The corkage fee could be the same as the usual entrance fee for all we know!
Some places charge for opening wine!
OKaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Well, I don't drink wine, so do you think they'd also charge for opening a can of coke?
innocent
When I went on a monday night I took a bottle of wine with me and they didn't mention a corkage fee at all. They just popped it open, poured me a glass and served it back to me when I wanted it.
dunno Not sure if it is different on other nights. The thing I wasn't too keen on were the "resisdent girls" they had doing the greedy girl thing that night. But each to their own. confused
Oh right in that case, I'll go in and drink tap water. They can't charge for that

They used to ! !
I think the law changed a few years ago after it was found that rave clubs were charging for tap water while the central heating was full on! Honest. I think now clubs at any rate are legally obliged to provide tap water, it normally £40 to hire a paper cup tho lol
I've never been charged for tap water anywhere. They look sullen when handing it over, but hey, the customer is always right cool
Hmmmm, we've hijaked this thread, haven't we redface

Yes, and you've forgotten to move it into the cafe to boot! lol
Scandal - yes, Coca Cola's 'spring' was some industrial sized tap down in SE London if I recall correctly.
Gem I know what you mean about the "girls" it is very offputting. I think they are trying to pull a fast one on a Tuesday night, saying it is free for couples "subject to corkage fee". Does anyone know what the corkage fee is?
Sorry. Dunno how much the corkage fee is? dunno
When weve been on Tuesday we bought drinks at the bar. I just tried ringing them to find out and was asked to ring back in the evening when the club takes over.
Corkage fee is a complete rip off. A very underhand way of making copious amounts of cash...In my experience it's £6/7 for wine and £10 for champagne!
Scandal duh! I know what a corkage fee is - I am asking if anyone knows *how much* it is.
Corkage as alot of people have realised is the cost to have the Cork removed from the
bottle, so in effect they are charging an entrance fee, another guise to get you in the
club.
As for the water topic i know adam n eves use the excuse that the tap water is coming
through lead pipes and is not safe to drink ?? and they make you buy a 500 ml of still water for a what a rip off when u can get the same brand for 78p for 1 !/2 litres in Asda.
Think some of these clubs are jumping on the bandwagon.
At least Dick Turpin said Please and Thank You

It's true, but it's also why I always have lots of dosh lol
i work in a night club friday and sat evenings,
one thing you always will get from me is service with a smile.
im very polite when ppl ask for water, and even ask if they would like ice and lemon.
we do sell bottles of water, ( and when someone asks i point out i can do a glass of water for free) this is for those ppl who really dont like tap water , but living in cornwall were blessed with decent water ( even if we do pay through the nose for it)
xxx femxxx
Did anyone find out?????
i worked in a pub a few years ago and if someone wanted a glass of tap water with a meal the landlord would charge them 50p on there bill for this
the tight fisted old git even charged someone £1 for half a pint o milk about 5 years ago
needless to sy they refused to pay this much for it and left the pub with out ordering a meal so looks like he lost out all ways lol
