I organised what I believe to be the first one in Yorkshire a few years ago. I gave the moderators of this site over 3 weeks notice but they didn't believe I was genuine. As a pro DJ I am, and was, in an ideal position to organise such an event but the mods only let me post an ad on this site 3 days before the event. In the end only 4 people turned up - and interestingly enough, 1 of those was a moderator from the site who I believe went on to cop off with the couple who turned up. They put down all sorts of conditions - I had to have bouncers, contact numbers for taxis, the room sealed off from any view to outsiders, a guest list (enforced by bouncers), hotels etc etc. Did you have this bother?

yep, sounds like the Moderators doing a fine job of ensuring that the Munch rules are adhered to to me :thumbup:

as for being in an ideal position to organise a Munch - this bit kinda shoots yourself in the foot I'm afraid :

SH is a swingers site, people do 'cop off' with each other (even the Mods!
) after meeting each other socially , & as an organiser, you have an obligation over the safety & discretion of those who attend - blabbing about something that allegedlyhappened is a big no-no & illustrates exactly why you were not the ideal person to organise such an event, in my oppinion. I went to a lot of bother to organise it and would have expected a lot more support, encouragement even - which sadly was very lacking. The attitude I seemed to be up against was 'who do you think you are'. I agree the whole point of a munch is to 'cop off' (although that's another contradiction of what I was told when I aranged it). It would have been nice if a lot more people could have copped off too. Given more ad time on here before the event - say 3 weeks - may have done the job nicely. The mods shot themselves and other members in the foot by actively not helping - because by now I would have organised further munch events had that one been a success.
PS The mod who did come out agreed I had done everything properly.

See, the whole point of a munch is not to 'cop off' with anyone - it just happens because people have met each other socially (which is what Darkfire said), whether at that munch or on another occasion prior to it. So, what you were told when you arranged it, wasn't a contradiction. Maybe you ought to peruse the terminology and find out what a munch is? Three weeks wouldn't come anywhere close to how long a munch takes to organise, either - most of them are booked months in advance. The better organised ones, anyway.
NOTICE - Photography - PLEASE READ
Some of you will know my "Name that" type threads on other sites, I will be doing another thread for this site at this munch. For those that have participated before I need explain no further, but for those who don't :-
I will be attending this munch with my camera and asking the ladies (sometimes the guys as well) if I can take a photograph of a sexy, but not too revealing, part of their anatomy. Previous subjects have been "Cleavages", "Thighs" and "stocking tops".
The picture will be taken with the munch badge in clear view but no faces will be in the picture. If faces are inadvertantly in the shot, they will be edited out before posting.
The pictures will be posted on here shortly afterwards in a thread for the purpose.
The picture will first be posted as an interactive jigsaw puzzle with the munch badge obliterated.
Members can then try and guess who it is. Once it is guessed correctly or a number have guessed correctly, the full picture with the munch badge is posted and the next subject puzzle is posted.
At the munch, If I approach you for a photo, I will explain what it is for and ask permission first. If you agree, you also agree to having your picture included in the thread, as I will not be PM'ing people afterwards for confirmations. You have the opportunity to refuse to be part of the photo/thread and I will respect your wishes. There is no commitment to take part.
If you do want to be part of the thread/photos, you can approach me to make it easier.
The following is an example of the type of photo and puzzle.
The aim of the photos and thread is simple, to determine who knows fellow members well enough to guess who the person is. Actually, who is a perve.... after all, how else would you recognise the person in the picture, given the picture content. It's all a bit of fun.
The pictures will be posted in the form of various puzzles, just to prolong the suspense. Complete the puzzle and make a guess.
Rules
1/ The person or partner of the person to who the picture belongs cannot answer the section on which they are posted.
2/ The first correct answer to the picture, wins that section.
3/ The decision of the Judge (erm.... me) is final.
4/ If a correct guess is not made in two days after the subject is posted, the answer will be given and the next subject posted.
5/ The Judge reserves the right to change the rules if any perve decides to try and cheat.
FAQ's
Firtsly, I stress that only if you agree will I use you as a subject. Secondly, no faces will be posted on the site. Thirdly, I am not a professional photographer, so you need not worry that any pictures will be used elsewhere (the quality may be a bit iffy, depends on how much I've had to drink
) . Lastly, it's all in good fun.
I am willing to take "private" photo's at the event, to be sent by PM or email to the person requesting. Private photo's will never be posted on the site and will not be distributed to anyone else bar the subject/subjects in the picture - so please do not ask unless you are in the photograph as I will not release pictures without the express permission of the subjects...

Theme - YOUR teenage years, what did you wear as a teenager? With the differant age groups on here its going to be fun so drag out those punk outfits and shell suits and lets see what you really looked like
Music - There will be a disco provided by DJ Alley
Cost - ?? due to the problems that everyone is experiencing there may have to be a small door charge to cover the cost of the DJ, I will let you know as soon as something is sorted.
EDIT - I have found a DJ now, there will be a charge of approx £2 pp at the door to contribute to the DJ and food. Accounts will be provided to anyone that wishes to see them and if there is anything left over it will go to charity
Hotels - Can be provided. The first hotel on the list has agreed to giving us a discount rate.
Transport - Taxi's are about £6 from most of the hotels, train and bus station.
Food - A good sized buffet will be laid on like last time.
It is also Vix and Reese's wedding anniversary so we will be celebrating that as well
