Just checked my phone bill and noticed I was paying money for my calls. I was a bit surprised, since we get free calls, why would we have a bill.
When I checked the numbers it turned out that the 0845 numbers cost a bloody fortune. Who is 0845.....well recently my council and government agencies have become 0845 i.e. DVLA, benefit, Local Authority, etc. So on a local number I could get a free phone call to them..........now it costs me to call down the road.
What is going on? Is there a con where these agencies get money back if they change to 0845 numbers instead of staying with local numbers?
