Would you refuse a meet for the price of petrol??
I find myself asking this question as there as so many single guys commenting/complaining on how they cannot get meets.
Recently, a single guy who I have met a few times was asking for a meet in the chatroom.. I told him I was free... and he said..
"No, as he couldn't afford the drive now the petrol has gone up"!!!!
The distance is about 40 miles, and I do not drive. As you can imagine this "Your to far, can't afford the petrol" has become quite a joke in chat for everybody. lol
Now don't get me wrong... I understand that he may not want to meet me again, which is well and good.. But, why not just say that??!! I also understand im not everybodys cup of tea
I'm gonna make this into another poll me thinks!!
i think its a poor excuse, it definitely wouldnt put me off.
love the fantasy lillmiss btw, shame i'm too old lol
I've had to reduce my weekly meet tally to 3 as it was getting too expensive to travel 5 times a week :lol2:
Seriously though...
I doubt it would stop me......I would simply take a little longer over the journey, travelling a little slower and get better fuel economy...
The poll has been nicked confused:
Helppppp
Awwwwwwwwwwww
Its all gone pete tong
Mods plz can u help and sort the poll thingy out?? 1 min it was gone... now its doubled up
lol
It is there now. biggrin
Like Steve has said, you take a bit longer to get there. (to the meet that it!)
"Your to far, can't afford the petrol"
is indeed a joke - it should be "You're too far" smile
Since the demise of my old oil burner my only car is my Jag, which at 18mpg means i can't afford to visit the petrol station to fill it up now
Thank you Gordon Brown rolleyes
Never worried about distance here, i often go to a club in the mids that 120 miles away and trave lback most of the time,240? miles
if i like someone i'll be happy to travel to the worlds end for them, even just for a natter and a brew...but that's my nature, iv'e always had this disposition, if i like someone, i tend to stick with them no matter what or how far,
it's about what you think of someone not how far they are....
jw
me thinks its just an excuse... I struggle to meet you cos i just dont go that way..think you are in the wrong direction pmsl

Now we know how, why and who is causing the greenhouse gas and carbon footprint problem in the world.
I travelled over 300 miles round trip to take a young lady out to dinner and nothing more.
It must have been a crap dinner cos she's not spoke to me since or maybe it was because she listened to rumours and thot she would have to pay for it or other such nasty rumours that ppl shouldn't listen to,or maybe she has a distance limit too . confused
And lilmiss you say in your profile that you don't want to meet any guy over 100 miles away ffs youre doing it too now rolleyes  lol
Yes there's lots of people who will tell others not to bother making a long trip to see them. This is not so good, they probably wouldn't be worth travelling to meet even if they lived next door.
i think it was just an excuse, lilmiss.
there is no way the price of petrol would put me off travelling anywhere for a night of lust with a girl

Some how I really dont think Lilmiss is personally responsible for all of it wink
Lilmiss, perhaps your signature should be changed to 'Lilmiss, personally responsible for all greenhouse gasses' lol
I've driven to Edinburgh and back just to meet for a coffee and a chat, so no I don't think distance should be a deciding factor.
If I wanted to meet someone then I'd meet then regardless of the distance or how much George Brown gets out of it.
Nothing in life is free so I just see the petrol cost as part of the admission price (even at 20 to the gallon!) smile

Unless of course she has a personal methane problem that we're not aware of.

I hope you've had a meet since George Brown died in 1985! lol

I was verging on arranging a first meeting with a guy from here once when he decided that if I wouldn't guarantee having sex with him it wasn't worth the petrol money!
You know when you know you've had a lucky escape! rotflmao
I have traveled well over 100 miles for social meets where it was agreed that play wasn't even on the agenda.
The petrol money excuse is just lame.

Oops... redface I was actually thinking of Aneurin Bevin!
Mind you I'm so out of touch with the real world I only discovered a couple of months ago that Gordon Brown was actually the PM!
The wonders of not reading newspapers, watching TV or talking to people. biggrin
