Apart from my Wire-fest, I will be watching:
1. The Crying Game
2. Citizen Kane
3. Brief Encounter
4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
5. The Departed
(There are reasons, but they're dull in the main! wink

Seriously, if you love The Shield then honestly The Wire is well worth persevering with.
I rated The Shield... until I watched The Wire. The quality of the writing, the characterisation, the breadth of the subject matter... oh and lots of violence too! wink
