Ok not swinging related but a moment of peace ....
THis was quoted on a website I visit ...
Tonight is the best Moon that has been in the last 2 centuries, it is higher than the Sun.
Go and have a look (if it's clear)
Normally the Moon is to the South of us but tonight its to the East...weird or what.
Heard on the New today that this is the best Moon for the last 2 centuries and in our lifetime we will never see this again.

It's a truly great sight ...

i hope you got a postcard from the queen
Its a very rare phenomenon, which relates to the angular displacent of the sun, earth and moon, which at certain times, means that we observe the moon from a much larger celestial angle.
The apparent height of the moon in the sky is directly attributable to its position above the celestial , combined with the obliqueness of the earths tilt in relation to the celestial equator at this point in the orbit of the earth around the sun, (ie at apogee, or at the winter solstice), is what causes this phenomenon.

Its to cloudy tonight... but yesterday....
As I went to purchase some beer from tescos....
I looked up at the sky and thought, that looks bright... I wonder if the moon reflects all the light from the sun so could you sun tan in the moon light despite its smaller size relative to the sun and the earth.
After inbribing the beers I was thinking about taking a few photos of the super bright moon... then decided it was to cold and my f-stops/seconds would take to long to work out with the relationship to the transversal rotation of the earth so went to bed lol
Then tonight... fecking clouds mad
Copied and pasted....................certainly not
Its from memory, from when i was studying astronomy many years ago.
It may not be technically correct, but its basically what happens with this phenomenon.
The reason its so bright is because the atmosphere of the earth doesnt interfere with the viewing like it would if the moon was lower in the sky. Therefore, you are seeing the moon through a thinner layer of atmosphere, thus making it a clearer view.
So ner, ner ner ner ner flipa
We missed it lol we were doing something else redface
