in yesterday`s edition of the Daily Record( Scottish Newspaper)there was a two page article on swinging.
more specifically an article on an author who is publishing a book based on the swinging scene.
apparently he joined several dating agencies and found a couple of willing partners who joined the swinging scene with him ,which enabled him to do his "research", he obviously used a pseudnym, but I was wondering if anyone in the glasgow area had met with him.....bit of a long shot I know but you may remember him..
and is this a portent of things to come more novels a television series even a hollywood blockbuster.?
he alluded to the fact that there are two swinging sites claiming over 500,000 members ( I presume this being one of them) but what is the other??????
Dunno - probably AFF or one of its many affiliates.
I hope he researched it well enough. the swinging community does not need yet another eejit mis-construing everything and making us all out to be something we're not. (well, most of us!)
i was sent the link to this article ,but was too tired to read it all confused but the person who sent it, a member on here said it was the best article he'd read about the scene and it painted us in a good rather than negative light!!! xj
Whats the link please I could not find anything dunno
ermmm am i allowed to put it in here?? confused :? xj
If it is the same or similar article that was in last Saturday's Independant magazine, then the author's name is Ewan Morrison.
From a vague skim read of the article it did appear to put swinging into a more balanced view, explaining the terminology, etiquette etc.
The novel is titled Swung and published by Jonathon Cape on 5th April price
No affiliation with it, never met the guy, just happened to find the magazine lying around at work and read it yesterday :lol2:

Oh and if I'm not allowed to post those details here, pleae feel free to give me a Jag's slap and edit my post ;-)
I've just bought the book... the author is appearing in Waterstones at the West End of Princes Street, Edinburgh on Thursday 19th April at 6pm for anyone who's interesed.
I thought the article was quite accurate and painted a realistic picture. There were a couple of bits I didn't agree with but overall it made for an entertaining read. It was in the Independent on the 31st March and in yesterday's Daily Record.

If it's not allowed can a nice Mod please remove the link?
Will let you know how the book was once I'm finished! wink
interesting article and contructive, the book will be very intersting reading.
could any one pm me the link to the article please

Wonder how many of the others there will be swingers, and how many will be there to gawp?
And will his 'playdar' be tuned in?

Awwww... thank you! kiss
By the quick glimpse I got of the list it seemed to be mostly blokes! lol
I suspect there will be a lot of gawpers! The woman in Waterstones said that they were being made to have it in the basement because it was a bit " " and then said she didn't know why and started talking about the content of the Mills & Boons books she reads in the charity shop she works in!
A very interesting article.
I've long held the belief that there was more chance of me, PoloLady, easy, Freckledbird, etc being a "journo" than the usual newer members that get castigated for asking questions; or trying to attend a Munch/social.

Good article, but boy, did that guy seem to have a lot of "beginners luck!" confused
There's another article by him in Arena magazine, May 2007 edition... in the filthy fiction section with the title "Heaven" about a swinging club.
I'm not sure if it's from the book... it looks as though it may be... will let you know when I'm finished! wink
