A bar man was polishing glasses on a slow day...he had a couple of quiet customers in, but nothing to keep him busy, when what should walk in, but a piece of string.
It approached the bar and asked for a pint...the barman looked at the string, and said, "BUT your a piece of string!" The string replied, "yes, and your a barman, can I have a pint please" Not quite sure what to do, the barman looked at the other customers for support, and they all seamed to have a sudden interest in the carpet pattern...so realising he was on his own the barman poured the pint and handed it over. The string paid and shimmied over to a table by the window.
The barman went back to his glasses, and pondered upon the likelihood of string getting thirsty. When what should come in the door, but another piece of string, it approached the bar, and asked for a vodka and coke. The barman replied " your a piece of string, I thought you drank pints." The string retorted "I may drink pints but today I fancy a vodka and coke" realising there was no reply to this the barman served a rum and coke, then went back to his glasses as the second string went to join the first.
As he polished he watched the two pieces of string engage in conversation, and heard a noise by the bar.
Looking round he saw a very tatty piece of string, that had obviously been owned by the make do and mend generation and been tied many times. Before the string could say anything, the barman said "Your a piece of string, what can I get you?" the string replied.....
Wait for it
