After every munch, I get people asking if it's OK to publish pics with my face in them and it occurs to me it must a bit tedious for photographers having to contact everyone in their pics to find out which faces they have to blank out, so I was thinking maybe some kind of "Photo traffic light" in people's profiles along the lines of
Don't publish my pic
Ask me first
Go for it

Perhaps use the "Occupation" section of the profile as hardly anyone fills that bit in.
Just a thought. smile
Oooh, you little star!
Because of this problem, Reese has now stopped doing pics at all. I can see this might work, but there's still the odd-bod who'll fuck it up.
what if one is posted and then that person changes his or her mind,
personally i cant see it working
]Don't publish my pic
Thanks smile

People changing their mind after the picture is published would be a pain the arse regardless. I just thought something like this would save the photographers a lot of time. smile

Believe me, that happens all too often, even when you have express permission from someone. rolleyes
Talking of which, where is Denise these days? lol
Works for us, but we wouldn't want photos published anyways

Great idea, id say wink
Might be difficult to get people to edit profile details.
x
I was also wondering if avatar pics in the forum could be restricted to members only - so guests do no see them.

OK, I've led by example and edited my profile accordingly. I was thinking if the heading of that part of the profile could be changed, we could just enter yes, no, or maybe. smile

Face pics are ok, but my socks... well, that's a very intimate thing you know... I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that. ;)
Oh, go on then rotflmao
Having just received a photo of the aforementioned socks, I may have to revise the above. :lol2:

Can be done on other forums Alex, but not sure about here.
Sounds like a good idea.

Profile updated - its ok to show my pic (unless I look crap in which case, please destroy!)
It's certainly an idea, though as has already been touched on, whether or not I was happy with a particular picture being published online depends a lot on both whether I look crap and what I'm doing in the picture.
In general, I'm happy for pictures of me to go on the 'net (after all, there's already plenty of them up there if you know where to look), but there may be exceptions.

And you wore them in public  :giggle: :giggle:
 to the idea though, my profile has now been updated accordingly smile
OK - Updated mine - I'm happy with pics so long as the face is blurred out (I look better that way anyway).
As long as I'm doing the posting, I don't mind my face being shown.
There! That's another thread killed.

I noticed that when I'm not logged in, the sig block and PM, email, etc etc buttons aren't visible; so I think it might not be a biggy from a techy point of view.
Said of course by a complete techno-numpty redface
I take lots of photos of parties and gigs (all vanilla so far) and I've been thinking how I'd love to take my camera to munches and events but I realise it's a very thorny issue. I won't be taking my camera to Wigan munch - it's my first munch so I don't think it would be appropriate.
What I was thinking (ahead, quite a bit!) is that it would be quite nice to set up a photo corner at events where people who wanted their picture taken could be photographed without making the camera shy ones nervous about cameras being about. If it was organised ish then people who wanted pictures of themselves could get them and people who didn't mind/wanted to share them could state their desires.
Anyway, a bit premature seeing as I've not even met anyone yet but it's an idea...

Great idea, apart from the fact that you would never get those priceless candid camera moments that rarely happen on cue.
Off to try to amend my sig biggrin
Yes, the candid ones are great but it's a pain having to blur out all the faces that didn't want to be included!

You'd be an 'Ask Me First' on that reckoning. Great idea - changing profile.
