.. but in a way it has restored a lot of my faith in human nature.....
i was talking on a football site about Anthony Walker, the person who got killed in liverpool , and hearing that he was a fanatical arsenal fan a few of us decided this afternoon to put up a small book of condolence, just we thought for arsenal fans to share their thoughts....
well by mid afternoon we start getting phone calls from various news organisations.... seems like the football community as a who embraced what we had done... looks like word of mouth and by the end of my shift at work today.. we have 700 people who have put their thoughts into words....and some of them are very very beautiful
It just made me realise that there are more things in the world that unite us rather than seperate us......

I can't help but feel angry and upset when I think of this and other hate crimes and it seems a real shame that these things have to happen before many people become aware of the normality of racism...
Though you are right it does show how many caring people are out there and hopefully (and I am sure it is the case) there are a lot more than there are haters!

yeah it was very shocking when that story broke, good on you for the book fabio
it seems it has gotten a bit dangerous to walk the streets these days, if its not social predjudice for the colour of your skin, its somebody wanting to mug you or beat the shit out of you to pass the time of day.
Wow, good to hear that you got such a positive response.
I have to admit, when I heard about that attack I was pretty angry and shocked but unfortunately not very surprised. There's just too many violent racist arseholes in this country for comfort (incidentally my 'comfort zone' on this one would be none of the bastards).
