I'd go back to where you had it done and ask for their advice. Hopefully they should re-pierce it for free. I've had mine in for over 4 years now no problems at all. I think you may be right about the depth of the piercing being the cause though, don't think titanium is anything to do with as it's supposed to be the best to use. Only other thing is I know you are supposed to wear loose clothing for a few weeks while it heals. I had it done in summer and wore either floaty dresses or hipsters for a few weeks. I'm sure others on here will be more knowledgable than me though!
Mine did that too, but I was fore warned that it may because my new belly button was too shallow. The piercing migrates forward if it's not done deep enough. Don't loose faith though, mine healed up just as I was considering removing it, and it stopped shifting forward. Looks good now. :P
Mine has recently come out too after having it done last summer. Phoned up the woman who did and she said to try and re-pierce it by lubing up the end of another belly bar with my kj jelly (dont know why she assumed i had some lol), tried that, but couldnt do it, so ive left it out for now. Shame really coz i really loved it.
Mine was also rejected; not sure why as I looked after it properly. Left a bit of a nasty scar too
I think it being done too shallow is probably the reason. The piercer did mention that it happens sometimes.
Oh well! I'm disappointed 'cos I loved wearing a bar with long spangly tails, and I lurrrrrrrved the feeling when they slapped against my tummy!!
Just have to give it time to heal then I'll get it done again, deeper next time.
Thanks for everyone's replies.
:uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: I just realised that I've done a serious post.
Now I know I'm broken. :undecided: :undecided:
Proud of you Bloke!
I`m sorry it closed up, I know how much you loved it. Next time choose one you really like to for the peircer to put in, preferably one you`ll be able to add dangly bits to yourself without taking it out, and leave it in for a good few months before you get all excited and start shopping for more! Perhaps you could ask the peircer if you could shop for your own, and what specifications it would need to meet for it to be used at the peircing?

OK, as a Coward, scared of needles and pain, should I go ahead and have a PA, all these tales of woe and rejection worry me. And what do you ladies think of male belly button and nipple piercings?
John
I was with a guy once who had his nipple pierced. He wore a T-Shirt every time we had sex in case I caught it. Sort of ruined the moment.
Don't think I'd go that far, if I'm going to have it done, I want people to see it, especially as they tell me it makes the nipple more sensetive.
John
I can only have piercings in my face ... lip piercing and one in the ear are perfectly fine ...
but both my nipple percings (left and right) grew out and so did the belly button one (twice) ... I have given up on them since ... can't see myself going through with getting 2 nipples getting again (yes, it DOES hurt, even if I'm a guy)
EagerSlut,
I had mine done a couple of years ago with a titanium ring, and it went really, really nastyafter a few months of looking like it was healing normally. It was really sore and 'flesh' started growing around the ring and hole. I went back to the piercer who said it may have been caused by the waistband of my work trousers rubbing on it (even though I taped a melonin pad to it every day) or just plain pure rejection and my body not wanting it. I was gutted cos I loved it!! And now all I have is a noticeable scar above my belly button were it was.
Anyway the moral of the story is.... maybe your body is trying to say 'no thankyou'
:scared:
I'm really pissed off 'cos my banana bar suddenly decided to grow out.
out of intrested im very young you see... what is a banana bar,,,
anyone remember banana bar the sweets they was yummy.. they was in a banana wrapper with banana marshmallow wrapped in chocolate ????? come on they was great someone must remember them? anyone?
I do and picked some up in France the other day, they are still as good now as they were then,
John
i have had mine about a year and a half and it is slowly but surely being rejected.
i can see a visible scar going from the place where it was done to where it is now.
when i wear a bar in it the flesh round it is now no thicker than a bit of skin.... so i imagine that it will be completley gone any time soon.
i doubt i will have it re-done though as it got very infected for weeks after i had it done the first time.
i was just going to put use ptfe ive never had a problem, thats what i have in the downstairs and when ive had my tonge pireced its helped heal it alot faster half the time in fact its fab stuff
In answer to you question There are several reasons piercings are rejected.
The most common is a reaction to nickel, although the EC nickel directive made it a requirement by law that all initial piercings should be carried out using Medical Grade Titanium, and only titanium should be worn during the healing process a lot of piercers still use 316L surgical stainless steel which is only suitable for healed piercings.
Secondly a common cause is changing your jewellery to soon most Body Piercings take upto 6 months to heal so if you replace a titanium bar for a surgical steel bar it can cause this problem.
another problem is after care a lot of piercers advise the use of potions and sprays such as Savalon these should be avoided as they slow the healing process down by preventing air getting to the piercing. And can harbour bacteria,You should only use a saline solution made by using
SEA SALT and boiling water allowed to cool prior to cleaning do not use TABLE SALT
Also be aware that theres are a lot of cheap imported jewellery being sold out there although you may pay a lot it dont mean its good quality
If any body wants more info i'm more than happy to supply it. e-mail
Yes I'm a trained and registered Body Piercer and yes I do sell body Jewellery
And I could go on for hours but every body reacts differently and good advice can only be given by asking questions to arrive at a possible cause.
