Hi
we are trying to organise a social in Bramhall. We have initially invited all the cpls in a three mile radius and the first meeting is tonight. Its just a pub meet nothing special.
however we feel that it would be nice if this could develop to become a regular feature of the local social and swingers scene
Has anybody with experience of organising these events got any good advice to give us. PLEASE.
There are a lot of members in this area who according to the records on the site are still active. we have started with cpls as we don't want to get swamped with single guys but if we get a good core group then all will be welcome and we will spread the net wider. You have been warned
Seriously any help will be most welcome and fully credited

What sort of advise is it you are looking for.?
You need:-
Date
Vague location (for the forum post)
Venue (for pm's only) check with pub / club what costs are if any.
Maybe name tags
Maybe an ice breaker type game
Well my first point would be see who turns up at the first one then go from there. Have you just mailed them and expect them to turn up or have some sent a reply? If its the first then you might be a bit lonely sad Second why not advertise in the lets meet up forum? You will find its not just people from your local area who are prepared to come. Finally be prepared to be messed about a bit, people will be wont be will be wont be coming, will drop out last second etc etc. Just comes with the territory. Once you know who's who you will be able to figure out who will and wont be coming the second they sign up wink
Firstly, make a post in the Let's Meet Up' forum. Members will then see who else is going as they add their name to the thread.
Secondly, invite the single guys. Some couples wont attend if you have barred them from coming. It's a social, you're having a drink and meeting people, why not let them come? Even if only guys turn up you will have laid the foundations for your next one which is likely to get more attending if the first one is known to be successful.
Thirdly, keep it simple. You don't need anything fancy, just a pub that everyone can travel to that has reasonable priced drinks. You don't need to lay on food as they can all arrange that themselves. Make it the sort of 'do' that everyone can chat to each other without shouting and without being overcrowded.
But above all, make everyone welcome and don't forget to enjoy yourself! You'll learn from your first one to make subsequent socials even better! lol

Linn,
Fingers crossed, though if it helps we'll be putting a Social thread in the Lets Meet Up section of the Forum, in the next few weeks, which will be circa 8-9 miles down the road from you.
Happy to try and help, plus hope you'll put your names down for it and pop along.
