As someone who is VERY happily married to someone nearly 14 year older than them, someone who moved in with her now husband when she was 16 and he was 29 (nearly 30) someone who could not be happier in her choice of husband, can I just say pull your fecking necks in and stop judging people you know nothing about! mad :x :x
A few of you are quick enough to jump on the bandwaggon when you think you are being judged, well grow up, cause personally I think this couple you are quoting are a dam sight more grown up than some of the people who have been silly enough to stick their noses into someone elses business.

I was married at age 17 to a guy who was 38.
We were married for nearly 20 years ........ most of them were happy ones :giggle:
Age is just a number............. some 18 year olds are far more mature in attitude than some 40 year olds ............. just read the posts on here to see that !!! :giggle:

As I said, I don't disagree with you on the maturity thing at all..some people, quite clearly, never mature. wink

Ah, but that's maturity and then there's being 'sensible and boring' it's the lalter none of us want to be, isn't it?
well, sort of.
I'm at the ripe old age of 51 and my partner is 37. Interestingly, the age thingy has never bothered kate , but has me. Though I've got over it.
Though I have to say that she looked at me glassy eyed this weekend whn I did my fine impersonation of Spot the dog from The Woodentops !!!!!

To me age gaps are imaterial! Personality and considerations counts, not age.
At the age of 51 I had sex with a guy of 21 and it was amazing!

Agreed but, guessing, that everyone was totally happy and consenting to that one wink
Personally, as I have my own kids in their early 20's can't do that but that's my choice biggrin

Guess that's the sort of thing that we think of with 'large age gap. relationships.... maybe, just us, but for a relationship we like people on our own wavelength, someone who we can reminisce with about stuff, whether it be 'Spotty Dog' from 'The Woddentops' or 'What a crap DJ Mike Read was'....it's those little things that give us something to talk about when we aren't having sex wink
Well ain't this thread full of shite then??? (personal opinion)
A true professional would be able to differeniate and move between jaded work attitude and fresh personal attitude. Coming over all cynical and twisted to and about people you know not even the first thing about (cos they are 'barely literate'?? :jagsatwork: ) smacks to me of a narrow mind and tunnel vision.
Now, if no-one else has anything to add to the argument I'll lock this in 5 minutes.
Position 1) girls of 18 with older partners are at risk and need saving
Position 2) total rubbish, mind your own business
Position 3) kettle's boiling and toast is ready and time to switch off PC

Well, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it BUT using your privileges to lock something because you disagree with it seems a tad heavy handed. confused
By the way, a 'true professional' sees a lot that others do not and can bring a wide experience to debates that others can not...just my opinion of course.

Once again you have chosen to mis-read and mis-understand. The argument is going round like a revolving door which is why the thread is being locked. In the words of the lovely Sarge 'enough said' though I think he spelt it incorrectly and is therefore 'barely literate', fortunately he is more than barely fab!
Oh, and my BTW - a true professional takes on board other's opinions and values without disparging them. Group hug??
