You would be surprised - there have always been very many females on dating sites looking mainly for one-to-one sex, although they do not state it in their initial contact, being a bit more discreet. I used dating ads back in the days before the internet, and there was a lot more first-meet sex resulting from these contacts than you might think!
Many women then, and probably now, would not consider using swinging sites, as they are not interested in swinging, or they consider the sites too blatantly sexual in content.
I don't use dating sites anymore, but from what I read things are much the same these days - see this intriguing article:

well ive always been interested in the more mature lady but there doesnt seem to be any on here over the 65 age range which is a shame but im hoping that will change in biggrin

We are mature in our 50's and new to this scene. It seems that no one takes us seriously. We have the same drives as the younger generation but maybe the wisdom to know what we really want at our stage in life. It's a shame, our age group has much to offer.

I must say I have noticed a few more rooms in the chat rooms recently described as being for mature people (or the people who enjoy mature people). That is a welcome development I think.

Joining in here and in chat and getting to a social or two will be your best way forward. I do have to say though that you're looking for the rarest beast on the scene; the single female :D Some say it's easier to find a unicorn, but persevere and you might be rewarded!
